The outside seating is ideally placed, for when the sun comes out, to enjoy some relaxing time at this fantastic eatery. We eventually went inside to our pre-booked table where we enjoyed some fantastic dishes over the three courses we enjoyed.Nice atmosphere inside and great welcoming staff and service. A must for all foodies to try and not too far from Bowness and Windermere. They also are welcoming to dogs which is a must have these days.

We visited this place on a trip to the lakes and I must give credit where credit is due. The service was lovely and the gentleman that served us was extremely attentive. As for the food, the fish and chips order was right on point and the soup of the day had a blend of flavours that left us with a smile on our face. Everything in this place has a good vibe to it and the decor is very authentic. I highly recommend if you are visiting the lakes or windermere to give this place a go.

From Start to finish the service and food was fantastic, We started with a mix board to share, and Goats cheese quiche, Dressed with rocket, for mains I had the Fish and chips with mushy peas and a home made Tartar sauce, my fish looked like a shark, interesting, my mum had the beef cheek, With mash potato and the best crispy sweet carrot's I've ever had, my girlfriend had the creme chicken, we got some more chips and roast potatoes to share, Which wasn't really needed, good portions, And to finish we shared a white chocolate cheese cake, With raspberry ice cream and fruit compote. One treacle pie with ice cream and fruit compote. All in all for the three of us with one alcoholic drink each and a jug of water, It come to £123, Which comes to £41 each. Top menu, With a top Chief and service, The best pud lunch I have ever had.

Went for Sunday lunch today. Our first visit and we were very impressed. Lovely place to be with very nice staff and great food. Nice outdoor seating area to front and side with a big carpark too. Well worth a visit.

Visited the Brown Horse last night for a Valentines meal with my wife and 2 friends and had a great night. There was a warm and welcoming atmosphere complimented by great service and excellent food. Highly recommend a visit.

Great setting and cute little pub. The main meals was good but starters and desserts very average. The lighting was quite bright rather than ambient but that’s probably because the spot lights were directly above our table.

·

The fish and chips are enough to put you into a coma. Great setting and a decent price for some good pub grub. A great place for a decent lunch.

From the moment you arrive the level of hospitality is exceptional. Rooms beautifully presented and of a high standard. Home cooked locally sourced food delicious with a varied menu suitable for all tastes and requirements. Dog friendly also made very welcome - can't wait to return!

Rooms were spacious and bed was comfy. Although we were at the front we found the road to be quiet...but it was October so not sure what it would be like in the height of summer. The restaurant was popular so do book - nothing else within walking distance for an evening meal.

Fantastic food. The Ale Pie was the best we've eaten, and rates extremely high in my list of world cuisine. The fish of the day was also extremely good, as was the burger. I'd never have imagined how good the Ale Pie was until I tried it. Staff were friendly and service was excellent. Prices were also reasonable and all in, the experience represented tremendous value.
