Cafe Italia in South Lakeland

Lovely restaurant with a very wide range of delicious food on offer, good vegetarian selection as well. Good atmosphere, generous portions, attentive waiting staff. We ate here every evening of our holiday apart from the day they were closed! Would highly recommend

The first night of my stay here I went to cafe italia from the outside it looks great, inside I sat up stairs I am a solo diner and I got some funny looks from customers and staff.The food is good at best not worth the £14 for one dish, the coffee came luke warm and the sugar was solid in the sachets.The staff are constantly hovering around you which is really off putting when you just want to be left alone to eat.

This was a brilliant restaurant, with very tasty food and good portions that do t leave you still hungry. Service was phenomenally quick and attentive. Will definitely be visiting again when we visit the lakes.

So glad we decided to eat here! The food and drink was so good and the service was friendly and not slow like other places we have been to. The range of meals and deserts is very impressive . Perfect 👍

Highly recommended Italian restaurant. We had to queue to get in. Always a good sign. Very bright and busy vibe around the place. Didn’t wait too long to get in and when we got in the service was excellent. No waiting around and the food was excellent too - I had the pork main course which was very tasty - the wife had the beef which was also very tasty. Five stars out of 5.

The food actually tasted really nice but the price was a little on the expensive side. Would have preferred if cheese was melted rather than just solid shavings on the plate. The decoration was a little confusing as it gave a both cafe and a restaurant feel, as if it was in between renovation. The biggest problem for us was the hygiene, when looked up to observe how the decoration was, there was a lot of spider webs and spiders, it was like it hasn't been cleaned for some time which put us off a little. Overall would go again but would look for the webs before I sit down.

Worth the wait and the price!!! No wonder this restaurant has excellent reviews! We tried Café Italia on our second day in Lake District and wow, the food was amazing! We loved it so much ❤️ I personally tried the prawn pasta and the mango passion fruit cheesecake. They were sooo good! 😋 The servings were big and the staff were very friendly. I highly recommend this place!! Will come back someday ☺️

Since our first visit to Lake District 3 years ago, this has become our “go-to” place for lunch and dinner whenever we’re in town. The service is absolutely incredible and all their food is divine. I HIGHLY recommend the mango smoothie and their lemon iced tea. For mains, we usually order either the penne arrabbiata and vegetarian calzone- both are delicious and the staff are always more than happy to add or omit ingredients which I really appreciate! We decided to try a pizza and creamy goats cheese pasta dish with pine nuts — the pasta was good but the arrabbiata is just too good. The pesto pizza was absolutely incredible, a new favorite of mine! We have visited this restaurant five times over the past two visits (over three years) and our experience has always been impeccable.
