Cavendish Arms Restaurant in South Lakeland

I had a lovely family meal in the Cavendish Arms Restaurant recently while holidaying nearby. There were 4 adults and 2 children and although we hadn't booked in advance the staff were very helpful in accommodating us. The menu was varied and we all found something to suit, food was fabulous and I couldn't fault it. Great service and delicious food!

Friendly service and excellent food. Not cheap, but certainly not overpriced. Good outdoor area when the weather's good. Good selection of both beer and wine.

Dropped in for a spot of lunch, so glad we did. Staff very welcoming and made a real fuss of our dogs! Cocktails delicious (although don't have the furlong if you're driving, delicious but lethal!!!) Food 5 star too, we'll definitely be back next visit. Thanks for a memorable experience guys.

Fabulous stay at The Cavendish Arms, Cartmel.We stayed two nights in ‘The Loft’, right opposite the pub. The room is lovely, clean and well appointed, but very compact!Dinner last night was delicious and we had fabulous service when we arrived from Paul.Thank you, we will come back soon. Lovely place, lovely location (right in the middle of Cartmel).

Good food. Just a poor service. Kept waiting too long for main course plates to be cleared. Then only half the table cleared & waited 20 minutes for the rest. No one came to take the dessert order. Girl there was flitting around doing half jobs everywhere. Probably put down to COVID/staff shortages?? Was expecting better. Very disappointed

Fantastic pub. Delicious food, friendly and energetic and professional staff. He guided the meal with great recommendations. "I could live here" the quote from the table. The Cartmel Thoroughbred was a very nice pint, and the homemade STP a perfect, if decadent end for the meal. Will happily return.

Eight of us booked a table here and everyone was completely satisfied with their meal. This place is probably the best value for money in Cartmel; it's not the cheapest but the quality of food is brilliant and the staff are really good. The quality is just below "fine dining".

Our overnight stay and meal were excellent. Our room was spotless the food exceptional. Paul was so friendly and welcoming he took time to make us feel at home. We will definitely be returning to this fantastic place

Brilliant service from start to finish, we were very lucky to get a seat next to the open fire. The staff could not have been freindlier when it came to more drinks l, the food or anything. The food was absolutely devine and the drinks were real loose tea, and everything else came in lovely glasswear. Genuinely nothing was too much trouble and we were all made to feel welcome from the minute we walked in. The food came out quickly and all of the dishes we had were beautiful. The desserts alone were worth the drive as they were on another level! I would not hesitate in recommending this establishment to anyone. The manager who I had a chat with briefly at the bar was so friendly. 100% will be returning. Many thanks to the establishment for an amazing meal.

Fantastic food with a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. All of the staff are always so friendly and attentive. The menu is always varied and they have a great selection of specials on. The food is beautifully prepared, using local produce and it is always exceptional. We frequently return as the food is so good!Really lovely pub, highly recommend for a wonderful meal and good selection of gins & ales, with a warm & friendly atmosphere.
