Our favourite local chippy! Food is always spot on, efficient, friendly service and Holland's pies a-plenty. The fish here is fab. We've been many times, often bringing friends and family when they come to visit. It's sometimes busy but that's no surprise given how good it is. The buzzer system works well, meaning you can order then sit outside (when the weather is nice) whilst you wait. Highly recommend.

Usually me and my partner try to go to the chippy every 4 to 6 weeks...and Usually its a solid 7/10...tonight however more like a 3..... I ordered 2 fish one with small chips the other with medium chips but received both with small chips.. i also ordered a sausage which I paid for but didn't get and also we were both left with a greasey after taste....not nice....

You know it's going to be good when there's a queue.... No idea how they cook their chips but they were the best chips ever. The fish was fresh and cooked well in a softer batter. Reckon I could have eaten the following day and would have still been hot....

I love to stop by for fish and chips. Fish are always cooked fresh. I've never had a bad experience here and what I like about the service, you get a small plastic fob which beeps when your food is ready meaning you can wait in your car.

Wonderful crispy battered fish, perfectly cooked chips and superb peas, best I've had in a long time, pay a visit if youre passing, it's worth it.

Easily the worst fish chips I’ve ever had. The second time of visiting after giving the first one the benefit of the doubt. Fish was slimy and the batter was barely cooked on the inside. Really greasy also, however, chips were decent. Given it costs £7.50 for fish n chips size of the portions are a joke. Won’t be returning for a 3rd attempt.

Had curry sauce and chips. Both ate delicious. Had fish and chips last tone, also excellent. We doing live in the area but always call in here as the food and service are excellent

Excellent fish and chips; worth the walk from Hatherwaite. Arrived around midday on a Friday, not long after opening. Fish was freshly cooked and moist while the batter was crispy along the edge, which was good for me.Good portion of chips, meant for a healthy portion for lunch. My wife struggled to finish hers and we both walked away full and satisfied. The outside benches are next to the road, so while not ideal, I was well aware of this beforehand so no reason to lower my rating.Chips were delicious, typical chip shop chips. Would happily return on my next trip to the Lakes.

Right on the road. They have parking spaces and a few picnic tables outside. So can park and eat your food fresh... Decent if you are hungry after a climb and need those carbs... They have hot drinks too...

More batter than fish. Soggy, thick batter with dry rubbery fish inside. The age and quality of the fish was also questionable as left me with food poisoning - unfortunately the fish and chips could be the only culprit. Also was saddened to receive my food in polystyrene, which is just utterly inexcusable. AVOID.
