Dalesman Country Inn in South Lakeland

We was told our room was in the red lion were the Room was OK but no toilet roll, very noisy, then the ppl upstairs decided to urinate out top window all over ours in the night.The bar had no lager but corona, no vodka, coke or lemonade.We then had a walk over 2 the dalsman were we walked in 2 be greeted with what do ye z want???? And absolutely no were to have a smoke anywhere on premises. Never again

The classical wood, tweed, and leather theme interior belies the unexpected generosity and moreish delight of their menu. The Ploughman’s and the steak pie were both exceptional. Good beer too!

Really enjoyed my stay here. Very welcoming and friendly staff. The food is amazing.

We only ate here as the chippy was closed and tbh it's a bit expensive but the vegetarian meal was absolutely gorgeous and for £14 very good value. Also, lovely wine and a very friendly welcome

Delicious food - great veggie nut roast and range of starters and puddings. Also fantastic cask and draft ales!

We just had one of the best roasts ever! My husband had the lamb which was incredibly juicy and tasty. I had the beef which tasted good but because I am pregnant and I asked for cooked it was obviously a bit less exciting, but I am convinced pink must have been great! All the trimmings were very tasty and well cooked, which sometimes seems to be impossible to get, and the gravy was delicious! Definitely highly recommend this place for a Sunday roast!

Great choice of cask beer, lovely pub location and excellent food. Very tasty, good sized portions of 'middle class' pub food.The only let down was the atmosphere didn't 'click' - the staff were attentive but not particularly warm unfortunately.Would definitely recommend, it may have just been the time of year.

Classy pub / hotelwith first rate food. We had two starters for lunch . Both superb with intense flavours. Beautiful old building with sympathetic modernisation. Friendly staff and excellent service. Hope to be back soon.

Lovely Sunday lunch with bright attentive staff. Warm surroundings and what looks like a large log burner for when it's cooler. Food was good as was the drink. Very enjoyable, especially as it was our first Sunday lunch made by someone else for over 2 yrs! It didn't disappoint.

Stopped in for a refreshing pint of cider after a long hot walk. Cider was cold and the service was warm - what more could you ask for? Would recommend. On a different occasion we ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. It was quite expensive, and I think if you are charging these prices, the attention to detail needs to improve. Having ordered 2 glasses of wine, after 10 minutes I had to chase them up to get them delivered, and the steak I ordered, which was delicious, the menu said came with pepper sauce, but none came with the meal. Other than that, all was very good. Would still recommend and visit again.
