Devil's Bridge Snacks in South Lakeland

Love it here. Can easily get down to the waters edge to go for a paddle on a sunny day. Massive field with plenty of picnic tables. Really nice walk along the river into Kirkby Lonsdale, nice little market town with quaint shops and pubs.

We have visited God's Bridge and now the Devils. Interesting bridge with a folklore back story. We visited when we were having some good weather and the bridge was very popular as was very busy with some swimming in the water below. We'll worth a visit if in the area.

Very nice medieval Bridge. There is a information board which you can scan with your phone to here the old tale about the devil. You can go down to the river bank. Would be nice for picnics in the summer. There is also free parking.

Nice butty & cuppa as usual. A good few bikes here for the time of year. Snotty roads means a good clean is needed of the bike afterwards.

This Stumbled upon Quite by chance as a result of a Sat Nav Alternative route... and what a Gem 💎 this is.... The River was in Full Spate after all the Heavy Rain 🌧 we've had and was looking Spectacular... Bubbling and And Churning over the Rapids ( Rocks) as the River Lune... races through the Landscape in a never Ending Journey... The Beautiful 3 Arch Bridge is a Perfect place to rest and relax...take in this lovely Beauty Spot....

A lovely place to visit the river was clean enough to swim 🏊‍♂️ in as one lady did the scenery was awesome 👌 and if you like walking 🚶‍♂️ it ideal only down side you have to pay for the toilets 🚻 definitely worth a visit

Nice place. Easily accessed next to the A65. Good to chill in the adjacent Jubilee Park or the river Bank. Ideal to swim, paddle or sail in the river. Lots of benches and picnic tables but BBQs not allowed. Scenic walking trails lead to the town for shops, cafes, pubs, etc. Burger van next to the bridge. Parking often busy but mostly free of charge. Very busy on Sundays, and some of the parking is reserved for motorcyclists. Toilets available at cost (also you can pay using bank card). Toilet was filthy on the day I visited. There are some small signs on bollards at the bridge entrances to warn people not to jump off the bridge. These signs need to be more prominent and positioned at the actual jumping point as there's been several incidents.

Devil's Bridge is a worthy stop - immediately off the A65. A great place for a picnic and if you're a good swimmer and very brave a good place to do some wild swimming. You can then follow the path along the river Lune to the 'Radical Steps' then up to Ruskins View. Walk through the cemetery towards the Sun Inn then onto the High Street. Excellent butcher's to the right with fantastic pies. Then go left down the High Street towards the main Square in the bottom left look out for the best ice cream parlour in Cumbria. From the ice cream shop go down Jingling Lane and this will bring you out again at Devils Bridge. Note: Care should be taken on the 'Radical Steps' - they're very uneven. The walk takes about 45 minutes at a very leisurely pace.

Lovely bridge and Riverside walk up to Ruskin's view (there are step steps to get up to the view point), and back down through the lovely town of Kirkby Lonsdale. The only downside was the toilets - 2 out of order and the remaining unisex one was card payment.

Fantastic walk along the bank of the river from the radical steps to the Devils bridge, easy walking so give it a go, an amazing mythical story about the bridge also toilets, ice cream van and a hot food takeaway on site plus if you take the car plenty parking.
