Eastern Balti Restaurant in South Lakeland

Ordered meals for 2, order took just over 1hr30mins to come which is understandable as it was a Saturday night, when it did arrive though, the food was absolutely freezing, the seekh kebab starters had more red colour than actual meat, the chicken curry and prawn curry were bland even though i asked for it to be cooked with extra spice. The nan bread was hard enough to break a window with, the pilau rice was not bad, it was still warm. 2 papadums which were in 50 pieces. I am not from this area but i do frequently visit, I guess people residing in the local area may know much better than i do but this place is absolutely awful. Mumbai which i believe isn’t too far away from this place was much better.

Quite average food, shami kebabs had no seasoning or spices, just bland dry meat. Tandoori chicken was covered with softened onions but the meat was burnt, also ordered a whole chicken but got 3 legs & 1 breast. Saag paneer completely flavourless. Mushroom rice was the only thing that was worth eating. Overall pretty poor.

Ordered Chicken Tikka Bhuna with pilau rice and peshwari naan through Uber, order process nice and easy as you would expect through Uber, meal arrived with wrong items, at least I got a partial refund from Uber. not the first time I’ve heard of problems here, will avoid in future, suggest you do the same.

I was in the area about three weeks ago and I found this place whilst I was searching for a halal Indian/Asian restaurant. The food is exceptionally tasty and the service was good too, but they should avoid putting too much colour on their food otherwise it’s a great restaurant.

Great food good environment to eat in I had take out would have been 5 stars but they forgot my rice 😞

Upon arrival we were greeted by the kind lady but it was downhill from there.A young man served us for most of the night and was trying to sell to us from minute one , which felt very awkward in a restaurant. The food was quick but poor , little to no chicken in the curry and the rice was flavourless. Upon receiving the bill , we were shocked by a £12 service charge which when requested to be removed , which is common courtesy unless told at the beginning . The lady obliged but the young man came and out and stopped her stating , he wouldn’t know what to say to his boss. Clearly trying to squeeze every penny out of unassuming customers as they definitely don’t get any returning ones. STAY WELL CLEAR !

Ordered for delivery - was 10% cheaper on Just Eat than Uber Eats so ordered there the exact same thing.I ordered the set meal for 1 with an extra naan.The popadoms were ok crispy as expected.The mixed starter meat was cold however there was mint sauce for the chicken tikka. The side salad was warmed than the meat! Naan bread cold very tough to tear spilling orange/yellow flavouring everywhere, was tough and chewy.The chicken rogan josh and rice was warm, very little meat in this dish with a lot of tomatos. Flavour was great!Probably would not order from here again.

Staying in a Premier Inn few minutes away.Ordered over the phone they said 30 minutes I arrived to collect it was ready on time.Nice welcoming staff.Clean and welcoming restaurant.Food was hot very nice and lots of it.Didn't like the chips they where hard as if they needed a few more minutes cooking.The special fryed rice was the best rice I have ever had very tasty.Would definitely recommend and use again if in the area.
