eS Bar in South Lakeland

Absolutely wonderful food and very nice staff. Drinks are probably a little expensive but it's far from a deal breaker. Surprised how quiet it was for a pleasant summers evening in the Lakes but I was still glad we booked.Couldn't fault the food at all, we had 4 small plates and one big plate of tapas and it was great portions. All round great experience, will be returning for sure!

Happened to come across this place by chance and what a chance this was. The place is deceptively spacious with a great ambience. The menu is not exhaustive but sufficient enough to address all palates and cravings. Being a “Mexican tapas” the portion sizes were accordingly appropriate. The cocktails were as expected. The service was good and the waiters were attentive and caring. Overall a great end to the day

Gorgeous tapas in a little suntrap. But, as it often does in the Lake District, the rain started. Not a problem... The staff quickly put the shelter over us.Fabulous food and great range of drinks. I even loved the decor in the hallway to the toilets.

Lovely Tapas restaurant hidden down a wee side lane, friendly staff got us a table as we hadn't booked, freshly cooked authentic tapas!! Full of flavour and a hidden gem in Ambleside

We really enjoyed the food and drinks here. I think this is the best casual dining experience we had in the Lakes. The food is first class and the drinks menu is very good with craft beers, cocktails, tequilas and Rums in abundance. Highly recommended

Really lovely little place in the heart of Ambleside, we had a really great time with absolutely brilliant food!Huge, varied menu ranging from bigger dishes to sides, (also got a full vegan menu which was absolutely brilliant!)Loads of drinks on offer, with cocktails being what we went with with good prices tooIt's a comfortable restaurant with atmospheric lighting and decorated really nice with sugar skulls and Mexican day of the dead thinhs, great staff, if you're looking for Mexican style food in ambleside this place a well worth a visit! They also have a cool outside bit with heat lamps if you're wanting somewhere to drink outside in the sun!

We called in last night as we were passing and without a reservation. Staff were very welcoming and immediately found us a table. Initially we just wanted a quick bite to eat and a quick drink but the atmosphere was that relaxed, the food that nice and the service that good that we ended up stopping for more drinks than we had planned. Food was excellent too and you could tell it was freshly cooked and prepared. Personally, I thought it was very good value for money given the food and drink we had. Would recommend and will return.

Top quality Mexican tapas. Our favourites were the soft tacos (see pic) and meatballs. Mojito cocktails really excellent. Staff friendly and helpful.

Bar eS Ambleside is a great spot to go and enjoy a pint with friends. Tapas selection was very nice and fresh, also friendly and helpful staff. We ordered chorizo, ribs, quesadillas and cheese nachos with various beers, and we were satisfied with our choices. Spare ribs had a real nice flavour profile and were cooked very well. Overall great experience. Nice place to visit again.
