Wow what a hidden gem. Not a normal tea and coffee shop, something very special, a local friend took me when we visited and the menu and service and interior design was just top notch. Really special. The male waiter we had was so good at explains the coffees and recommending one, ypu can tell when people genuinely enjoy their job.

Like a lot of folk, I’ve gone off the mainstream coffee houses (no names, no pack drill) so it was an absolute pleasure to be affirmed of this after a visit to Farrer’s Tea and Coffee House in Kendal. A warm welcome on arrival from a very attentive young lady who showed me to my table upstairs in this fabulously quaint old building, followed by a delicious Italian blend espresso, helped to make my visit perfect. I was so enamoured with my surroundings that I had a cheeky bacon butty - served with all the trimmings you could hope for - and washed it down with the nicest flat white I have ever had. A fabulous experience, and worth every (very reasonable) penny. Thank you Farrers - I look forward to my next visit.

Nice atmosphere and lovely scones. Teas were nice and very good selection. The place was a bit cold but presumably doors were left open to allow for some fresh air.

Absolutely amazing food and lovely honest service! When we arrived and asked for a table the staff immediately made us aware that there might be a delay on being able to take food orders as they needed to give the kitchen chance to catch up. We said that would be fine but within 10 minutes they'd taken our order, and we only waited 15 minutes more for our food, so props to the kitchen staff as well! All of the staff were extremely friendly and the food was amazing. Particularly recommend the bacon which is the best I've ever tried!

Stop off here for a coffee break and wasn’t disappointed. Good covid controls. Friendly and helpful staff. Huge selection of coffees and Teas to enjoy inside or to takeaway. We had a Cumberland sausage bun, it was delicious. If you’re in Kendal this is a must see, try and buy. The store is fully stocked with wonderful gift ideas. The shop was founded in 1819 and rich with history. I found the sales ledger of bygone Times very interesting.
