It's near one of the main car parks which we used, we were hungry and it was in the right place at the right time. So glad we went in for lunch. Only had toast, beans, mushrooms and fried egg but it was lovely with the mushrooms dry as we like them. Staff very friendly and they brought over their house special, home made quiche for us to see. Looked amazing so we took away a few (large) slices to have for lunch the next day. Tasted even better than it looked, both meat & vegetarian options. We'll be going back next time we're in Ambleside.

Wonderful cafe, we only stopped for tea and cake but wish we had room for more food! It looked amazing, the cake was one of the best Victoria sponges I have tried. Staff super friendly and welcoming too

We visited right at the end of our holiday, which was a shame as this place is delightful.Wonderful group of people, proper fry up, some delicious and fresh smoothies.Interior is quite small but had that warming family vibe. Will definitely visit again next time we go to Cumbria.Get in early. We arrived 2 minutes before opening, place was full within 20 minutes.Fast service, great grub, and the warm welcome I remember from my time visiting as a child. Which was sorely missed in other parts of town.

Family run friendly cafe. Home made food and very tasty. Seating in and outdoors but not a huge place so be prepared to wait , also to take your time as conversation is part of the service. If you want fast food pronto go elsewhere. They pride themselves on a friendly welcome.

A lovely warm cafe in the heart of Ambleside. Staff were friendly & recommended a few places to visit as we were chatting away. Food was decent, a little gutted they didn’t serve chips here with the sandwiches but thr crisps were a nice touch. Wonderful variety of coffee & hot drinks to choose from! Would defo recommend if you’re in the area.

We couldn’t have picked a better place to enjoy our breakfast. In front of the entrance are couple of tables where guests can also enjoy their time in the fresh air. Warm welcoming staff, attentive and looked after us very well.I found my English breakfast to be very satisfying. I ordered Veggie option. Food was nice and freshly made, came swiftly, also great portion size.Perfect place. Go check it out!

A great welcoming, family run cafe. I had a lovely and generous full English which was delicious. Plenty of different options on offer from soups, home made quiches, cakes and vegetarian options.Very attentive and friendly staff that leave you wanting for nothing without hassling you too much! A great start to the day.
