Herdwicks Cafe and Bistro in South Lakeland

Really great pasties! We had a lamb and mint sausage roll and a sausage and black pudding and apple pastie, both were exceptional, really meaty with excellent pastry.. the lamb roll was HUGE and you can tell they are homemade and really filling!It was a nice surprise to get a proper cup of tea made with leaves! Great atmosphere, great place, would definitely recommend.

Genuinely love this place. The staff are utterly lovely, the food is beyond delicious (The home made sausage roll with black pudding is unbelievably good) the ice-cream is heavenly and to top it all there's 10% off for motorcyclists / bikers. Does a café get any more perfect than this?

What a wonderful find ! Lovely helpful, friendly staff that are very doggy friendly and are really understanding about Gluten Free food and being a Coeliac. So reassuring!! A separate fryer for crispy fries and so switched on. Fab food !

Excellent cafe in the centre of Coniston, dog friendly with staff giving all the furry friends a doggy biscuit and bed to rest on. We only drinks and bacon / sausage bun which we found to be very tasty with plenty of filling. Staff were polite, friendly and welcoming. I would recommend a visit.

Good spread of all day good. Many dog friendly items also available to buy. Ample of place to sit out.

Lovely clean cafe in Coniston. Had a lovely flat white with oat milk. Dog friendly....without a doubt. They even have wee rugs for your dog to lie on. Staff super friendly and they treated all the dogs so well. Almost didn't need to feed my dogs last night after all their treatsGreat cafe....highly recommend 👏👏👏👏👏

Welcome rest after a very wet and windy trip over Wetherlam. Lovely cup of loose leaf tea and the most enormous and tasty sausage roll. Salted caramel Tiffin in the background was a great finish! Café is nice and airy for wet walkers.

Nice place, great courgette and fennel soup of the day and the random woman I sat opposite who had an eye patch and a wooden leg said she enjoyed the lamb pasty a lot but we both agreed it was very expensive. More like restaurant prices for a cafe quick pit stop. I’ve hardly been able to buy any courgettes this year and none of my plants grew yet these fellas have so many that they’re blending them up and making soup out the little blighters.

Despite the torrential rain and being completely soaked, the staff were super friendly and very welcoming. The coffee and food were spot on and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was great and I was pleasantly surprised on its cleanliness. I would definitely recommend this café to locals or anyone visiting the area. There’s a few parking spots across the the road, pet friendly and outdoor area.
