Great food, service and staff. Couldn't recommend this pub more. Wish we had found it on the first night of our holiday.

Stopped in for a bite to eat. Lovely pub. Great FRESH food. New landlady lovely & friendly And she gave me a dizzy blonde pump! Definitely not a pub to miss! Fantastic enclosed beer garden.

What a lovely time we have had. Ordered food from the takeaway Nextdoor and popped in for a drink whilst waiting for our order. The very friendly landlady said that we could have our takeaway in the pub if we wanted, who could resist a nice beer 🍺 whilst eating our food 🍱. Thanks very much for your kind offer. I wish you all the best and good luck with getting your kitchen sorted out 😃

Went for Sunday lunch, dreadful. Had roast dinner, HALF a roast potato which looked like a frozen one , a couple of spoons of mash which was dry on top and lumpy, HALF a carrot and parsnip , some cabbage and broccoli with a very soggy yorkshire pudding. A slice of beef and ham as for the gravy it was virtually transparent with bits in . Left most of mine. Lots of flies in the pub as well. We changed tables due to them we told the staff but they didn't seem too bothered. The place could also do with a good dust as well. Certainly won't be going back .

Under the new management the place has come alive again things are getting back to normal,no food just yet the kitchenis having a good overall, refurbishing the hotel rooms so alot going on.

Amazing friendly service, what lovely people!Small pub menu but food was freshly cooked. For starters we had breaded prawns and halloumi fries. The halloumi was the best ive ever had, and the prawns were huge! For mains we both had steaks and our 15 month old daughter had fish chips and beans. The steaks were a little overdone if we had to pick fault but they were delicious. The people are lovely, and they even had a push along ride on car for our daughter to play in, she loved it so much that we are going to buy her one to use at home!Best meal we had all week on our holiday, we felt very welcome.

·

Really lovely pub and staff, we called in without pre-booking and they squeezed us in. Had a few nice drinks and the food is delicious! Highly recommend the halloumi fries, burgers and steak, with the stilton sauce. The cartmel sticky toffee pudding is to die for! Dog friendly and a nice beer garden out the back. Definitely recommend a visit.

I warn you now, do not have anything to eat during the day if you plan to eat here. Value for money is an understatement, and the quality isn't sacrificed for the quantity.

Still out of season, but the service that we received, and food, (although limited), was very good.As a real ale lover, the Cumbrian Way was excellent!!!!My wife and I had steak, chips and seasonal veg with pepper corn sauce. As good as we’ve had elsewhere !!!Even the dog was made welcome with treats and fussing!!Well done guys, keep up the good work!!
