Jackson's Bistro in South Lakeland

Excellent staff, service and food. Loved it. Seafood platter was amazing and the choice of having 4 small puddings was great.

We just arrived at the Lake District and do great to start our first night here at Jackson’s …great food and service…the Cajun chicken pancake and beef Bourgogne plus the berry ronoff….great!

Probably the best restaurant meal I have ever eaten. You must try it. Very highly recommended.Super food, super quick service, super manager and staff. Worth visit to Lake District just to dine there.Wish this was my local restaurant.

We come here to Jacksons when we visit the Lakes and it never disappoints. It is run like a well oiled clock. Staff are all friendly and professional, we just love it. Food is delicious, prices are so affordable and great value for money. Can't say enough about it.

So last night in the lakes and decided to try the no1 restaurant in Bowness. Food was adequate, nothing special sadly. I had the cod loin and prawn starter, both were overcooked. Partners stuffed mushrooms average also. Main we had the chicken covered with bolognese. Again average nothing to rave about and side of veg lacked any flavour. Then we had the cheesecake of the day, that just looked like someone had slapped a dollop on the plate. Tasted OK but have had better. To sum up its OK, but doesn't warrant No1 spot and a little overpriced for the quality of the food. Only good thing was the service, no problems there.

We visited Jacksons Bistro last night with friends to dine whilst on a short weekend break, it has to be said we had an absolutely brilliant time, the staff and management here are true experts at providing customer service and a level of positive Interaction with customers that simply eludes most places. We were made very welcome and the staff had a good knowledge of how the various dishes were prepared and also what wines would compliment our meal. The menu was varied, I found the prices a little bit on the high side on some of the items on the A La Carte menu, however the fixed price menu made up for this with a great choice of similar dishes. For instance both menus had rib eye steak, so it was all good.We had a lovely meal and great overall dining experience, I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.A big thanks to the staff who made our evening so good. Clearly they take Pride in what they do. 10/10

I would thoroughly recommend Jackson's Bistro, the atmosphere and ambience is great but the food was outstanding. We chose from the set menu and everything was cooked to perfection
