Popped in here for a cider after a long walk over the fells. Made to feel instantly welcome by ALL staff, told that my little dog could come inside with me, then sat outside and the manager came over to give my dog a treat to eat. Very friendly, a lovely and much needed pint and a superb location. Who needs more?! Thank you to all staff for being so welcoming today!

We can’t even begin to put into words how amazing this stay was. Pete, Jules and Imogen made us feel so welcome and are truly lovely people who did everything they could to ensure we had the best time. Thank you guys for the best trip and we will certainly be back! ❤️

Traditional public house. Quality ales, friendly staff. Outside seating area. Mind yer head when going for a pee.

Always loved this pub and it’s now under new management. Amazing service from all staff but especially Leon. Great local beers and a free drink for my boyfriend’s birthday. Really accommodating and well priced. Can’t wait to visit again!

Really friendly service, can't recommend enough. I would recommend a pint of Lowrswater Gold. Best pub in Hawkshead, I have tried them all.

The King's Arms is traditional, not swanky - and the food is great, not average. Pub classics served by friendly staff and an attentive landlord.Be thankful there are still places like this in the Lakes!

I stayed at the Kings Arms in Hawkshead for 2 nights over a weekend with my wife. The pub offers good value for its rooms, especially given its location in the centre of the village. The rooms reflect the competitive price and are clean and functional. If I was to give bit of feedback it would be to replace the mattress and pillows, which were well past sensible replacement stage and just doing this would add a huge boost for a comfortable stay. The pub itself is always busy with walkers and is very dog friendly. Food is served, although if you want an evening meal, book or get in early as it gets busy. We had a very warm welcome by all the staff working and they are very helpful and friendly.
The location is perfect in the centre of the village and there are other pubs and cafe’s with 2 minutes. If I stayed again in Hawkshead I would probably try and get a slightly more expensive room elsewhere, with newer sleeping facilitates. If the Kings Arms refreshed its beds I would have no issues staying again.

We've just got back from our stay here. Everything was excellent! Lovely staff, who worked hard to make sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed. The rooms are cosy, clean and tidy, the food and drink was delicious and our dogs, Dougal and Alfie were very grateful of the treats they were given. We can't wait to stay here next year! Thanks again for our lovely stay.

Managed to get a table outside but fully booked inside. Took our order, no issues. A small choice of food but seemed to accommodate most people. A nice little location in the square but didn't think much of the food unfortunately. Couldn't taste the food, just the oil it had been cooked in. Left half of it as I really couldn't eat anymore. Perhaps just a bad day judging on the reviews but I won't return.
