Kirkby Lonsdale Golf Club Restaurant in South Lakeland

Comfortable boutique hotel, with a lovely bar and restaurant. Food and Service were first class. Location is excellent in friendly village, with beautiful walks and stunning views.

The hotel was perfect for my work needs. The room was comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was perfect. Freshly cooked each morning with a variety of foods to choose from.

Stayed last Friday and Saturday great set up, lively bar area yet stylish, great food , staff friendly and helpful , only minor criticism for me was a no show of beans on a fantastic breakfast, also no hand soap in room had to use one in the shower, would I stay again ca t wait

Came for a meal in the evening. The food and staff were excellent. We took our dog and sat near the fire it was very relaxing. They are a very dog friendly establishment. We'll worth a stop, even if just for a cuppa.

Not been in Plato‘s for a while and we had a meal in the restaurant. Glad to see that Plato’s is still one of the best restaurants in town. The food was excellent and the service was spot-on. There was a nice fire which is always a bonus.

Fabulous! A warm welcome which extended throughout the one night stay. Dinner and breakfast were made by a talented chef who brought his own twist to the dishes, dinner was my favourite meal of the year so far. Lovely, cosy room with a teapot (I do love a teapot!) Thank you to Jamie who was a competent, efficient and friendly front of house. I shall most certainly be back...

Food was excellent. As a veggie the beetroot Wellington was great. Friends had fish and meat dishes and both really enjoyed them. Good chips...always important! Good atmosphere. Friendly staff

We held our Wedding Celebration here and the event was wonderful. Beautifully decorated with white linen and exquisite fresh flower arrangements, fabulous food (every single guest commented on how great it was), excellent service from all the staff, we really couldn't have wished for more. Those who stayed over, raved about the rooms and delicious breakfast. All our guests were so well looked after by Alex and his great team. Front of house and behind the scenes, they all did Plato's proud.

Plato's is in an excellent location, right in the centre of the lovely little town of Kirkby Lonsdale. Our room is lovely, with all mod cons, but still retaining it's rustic charm. Full of old beams, so watch your head.We ate in the restaurant area. The food was nice, but not amazing. My beetroot Wellington was lovely, but my husband wasn't overwhelmed by his pie & venison.However our coffees were lovely with plenty of Bailey's & Amaretto.We would definitely stay here again & are looking forward to our breakfast in the morning.

Not what we were either expecting or used to, we have stayed here many times and I accept covid has had an impact but closing the bar at 8pm and not opening the restaurant was unacceptable. My group booked every available room at a cost exceeding £1000 and then spent £400 elsewhere for our evening meals. Oh well surely we could look forward to their excellent breakfasts, how wrong we were, shocking choice and quality.Hoping for better soon.
