Called in on the chance we could get a table and we’re welcomed by very friendly staff. Offered the early bird menu which was fantastic value. The food was outstanding in both quality and presentation. “Shiver me livers” was absolutely delicious as were the “double dippers.” Mains were “lamb shank redemption” and “I spy rib eye” with peppercorn sauce. Now I never normally eat rib eye as I prefer Fillet. It was that good it has changed my mind on steak. Seriously, it was superb. Finished off with bread and butter pudding and custard (I’m not a dessert fan normally but hey ho). £20 for two courses and £24 for three (£5 supplement for the rib eye ) was worth every penny. Not rushed to be turned out either despite being in for five. Will definitely return.

Had a great night at Lucy's. When we first sat down to look at the menu, we realised that the place was special when the menu was uniquely created for each day, with a personal greeting from the owner. The food was delicious and the menu had swathes of character, humour and zing. Staff were attentative, and friendly. Definitely one to go and check out if you are in the area

I cannot recommend Lucy's high enough. The food was excellent and I love the quirky names for the dishes (Soupy soup and Lamshank Redemption and Bambi). The staff were 2nd to none and the atmosphere was light, relaxed and vibrant. We were a party of 13 with a special celebration and the table looked wonderful and food came out all together.I cannot wait for our next visit.

Fantastic time at Lucy, friendly staff, kids and dogs friendly. The food is lovely and the sticky toffee pudding is a must! Make sure you book it before you go!

We had dinner at Lucy’s tonight, with our 15 month old. Not only was the food absolutely spot on: every single thing was delicious - we particularly loved the bobotie - but Lucy couldn't have been more accommodating of our small one.I appreciate that a toddler is not everyone's ideal dinner guest but we were made to feel 100% welcome. From our arrival, where we had plenty of space for our pram next to our table to Lucy happily bringing breadsticks before the food arrived and, when the small one was grizzling due to teeth, they even brought a little spoonful of cold ice-cream. Additionally they have a 'picky plate' full of finger food: carrots, pitta bread, delicious homemade hummus, grapes, cucumber, thick sliced ham etc., which is ideal for little ones: all three of us relaxed and enjoyed our dinner. We haven't had such a great family meal out ever.Thank you.

This was a very cute restaurant in Ambleside. The place has an awesome cinematic vibe with dishes named with funny references. The food itself was also delicious, a lot of great options of starters, mains and desserts split between a fixed and a daily menu. If you are in a group of 4 or more I definitely recommend ordering the baked Camembert, it was absolutely fantastic!!

Great eatery. I say eatery as this is no run of the mill restaurant! Amazing menu of very different and satisfyingly delicious meals. Great little touches everywhere including the menu being an amusing read whilst you wait for your food. Which isn't long with the impeccable service. Recommended for something a bit different from the mainstream. A breath of much needed air!
