Manor House in South Lakeland

Most amazing food we've had locally for a long time! So beautifully presented, amazing flavours and perfectly cooked. We enjoyed every bite, they've done a brilliant job on the menu and the service was excellent. One to visit regularly!

We have been here before and this time we were booked in for Sunday lunch with a pitch for our camper van. The Manor House is off the beaten track but it is absolutely worth the effort to get there. The roast beef was fabulous and the staff were all very professional. There are electric hook ups and great views if you can get the right pitch. Some wonderful walks as well. Highly recommended.

Stunning location with great views.The decor is tasteful and the facilities are rustic/modern and very pleasant and clean.The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, and we were made to feel so welcome on our brief visit.There is a large easily accessible carpark which can accommodate larger vehicles, making it an ideal stop if you're touring that part of the country.Beautiful venue, and wonderful friendly staff.Would definitely recommend.

I booked a table for my partner and I as a post birthday treat. I was aware the venue had recently underwent renovation and thankfully they weren’t delayed as it would have been a shame to miss out on such a tasty meal.We had a table inside, the decor is very pleasing and rustic and is especially light and airy by the window. I ordered the chicken, dauphinois potatoes and peas (main) and my partner went for the steak burger (main). I basically inhaled mine it was so flavoursome and juicy. My partner found his burger to be very rich and succulent. We were both very impressed with the food. Definitely recommend eating there.

Visited Christmas Eve lunch time (our 2nd visit here) and despite being busy the service was fast and friendly. The food was delicious - shown below are the garlic mushrooms with crispy hens egg to start and the classic fish and chips for main. Our whole party agreed the food was superb and we would return - highly recommend booking as very popular!

Not JUST gluten free…I have to eat gluten free food, just because. It’s usually not very good, but I remain grateful that I can have a meal like every one else does. The GF battered fish at the Manor House is as good as any battered fish you can get anywhere, GF or otherwise. Add to that a fabulous atmosphere, welcome and decor, and you have the pub of choice for at least a 20 mile radius. Cannot recommend highly enough! (See empty plates) My wife had not GF food and it was equally wonderful. Fresh, local and delicious, with impeccable service. 10/10.

We had a lovely meal here but my only gripe is that a 'blue' steak should not be sitting in a pool of blood. It needs to be rested so that when it is cut into the juices are brown. However the steak itself was delicious.When we arrived we got our drink fairly promptly but another party arrived who rather disturbed the entire restaurant by changing tables twice and their food was ordered ahead of ours. We did feel that the other party were well known and took the attention of the staff over us. We did feel we were rather invisible.But everyone else in our party had a lovely meal so that we feel it should have 5 stars but the staff need to treat their customers with the same courtesy and not leave new customers waiting when regular customers come in.

Excellent food, great service,beautiful area. Generous portion sizes of delicious food...we shared a starter and pud which I was glad of as all 3 courses were splendid. So good got carried away and ate pud before photo but it was delicious! First visit for us but hopefully not our last

Exactly what a great pub should be. Super efficient and friendly service and incredible food all round. Couldn't fault it and will definitely return to the area specifically to go to Manor House. Thank you!
