New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel in South Lakeland

This is an awesome location next to National Trust Sticklebarn. Food offerings in Langdales are limited and quite expensive this year. Beer was great: pint of Wainwright's at £4.50. Gets very busy in holidays. Very limited phone signal but they have WiFi 😀

The New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel is a Great place from which to Enjoy the Spectacular Valley of Great Langdale and The Langdale Pikes.... it is situated in a Superb location with the Pikes right behind the Hotel, the Hotel is Extremely Clean and Tidy, well Presented and A Special Thanks for the Staff & Management Team who have continued to Deliver the High Standards, despite Staff Shortages... The Rooms are very Comfortable, there is a Guest Lounge, which overlooks a Beautiful Garden, with a Stunning Magnolia Tree, which is just Blooming at the moment, put this Together with Early Morning Mist, Sublime Mountain views, Beautiful Birds Singing, It's a place to relax and forget about the Strain of the current situation.... Bar meals and Evening Meals are taken respectively in the Walkers Bar,or the Patio adjacent to the main Entrance, and Residents in the Hotel Dining Room...very Spacious and comfortable it is too... So Enjoy 😉....

Member of staff very helpful and food lovely

The landlady was lovely I had come back down from the hills in my own , I didn't have any mobile signal, so couldn't message my man and dog to tell them I was back safely as they carried on up to Pavey Ark. She was kind enough to let me log onto her wifi, so I could message him. I brought a cappuccino and transferred, when they came back down she have him a round of applause and a well deserved pint was had by us both. She has a lovely warm and welcoming bar with rooms to stay in definately worth a visit and in such a picturesque landscape a lovely place to stay . Thank you for being so kind and friendly. Good luck for the summer season and I hope you find some more staff very soon.

Amazing place for a hot drink after a cold hike 🙂

Lovely place and surroundings. The staff are so friendly and very helpful. The rooms are so clean the bed was so comfortable. The food (what can I say) well I had the beef Stroganoff with rice i could of ate more as it was so tasty but I was stuffed as decent size portion. The kippers for breakfast wer excellent so compliment to the chef's. So keep up the excellent work see you again in the summer.

The pub was poor, under staffed, beer was off, wasn’t given another one and had to ask for money back on my way out. Food was very disappointing, would not visit there again.

Nice food (tuna mayo sandwich and fries) and even better beer (Hobgoblin). Staff really friendly and helpful.

The Walkers Bar in the NDG gets a 5 star review for the bar staff. When the power went down over the weekend in the whole area they provided a warm friendly haven. Nathan was pure gold and even lent us his camping stove to take back to our accommodation.

Really enjoyed our stay here- the staff are friendly and helpful, the room was cosy and clean, and dinner in the restaurant was exactly what I was hoping for! Hoping to return soon..
