Booked the hotel directly, beautiful location and the hotel is so impressive as you drive in. Unfortunately, upon entering you it's very dated from the reception and walking through the hotel. The room we stayed in was lovely, it was in a different building and had a gorgeous view of the estuary. The hairdryer was somewhat like a hoover from the 1960s - needed an update! We decided to book dinner at the hotel based on the menu - it sounded amazing. The actual food didn't deliver at all for the prices advertised; carefully crafted menu with terrible execution - the duty manager admitted that we had not been served meals he'd expect to serve and that much of the mains were cooked the day prior not on the night! Ended up driving to a service station for food as that's all that was open due to the Bank Holiday. We were chased to check out earlier than 11am, we were mid moving our belongings to our car when reception called! We used the spa which was very nice, there was confusion with that booking despite prior communication on email to confirm times etc.Overall, disappointed with the stay due to the number of issues; it was booked for a special occasion. Customer service during the stay and catering were not strengths. Amazing location so worth visiting Grange Over Sands, would stay elsewhere for the cost and definitely don't dine at the hotel unless you wanted reheated food at Bistro prices.

Great location and fantastic service. Booked a superior room which was large and spacious with amazing views. Couldn't quite understand to superior aspect to the description. Breakfast, buffet style had plenty of choice and of a high standard. Was little underwhelmed by our one evening near there. All-in all a great stay.

Our server was Dennis and his customer service was fantastic. His attention to detail was phenomenal and nothing was too much trouble for him. The reason for the overall 4 stars is the fact the food was not up to par although the supplement was waived which made it better.

Didn't experience the hotel, but the Spa. The building, gardens and it's situation is amazing. The Spa is small but perfectly formed. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Treatments are excellent. The glass of bubbles are also most welcome. Variety of facilities are excellent for such a compact Spa. Well worth a visit if you visit Grange Over Sands.

We stayed here for two nights. Room was really old style but still clean and the spa was good but the breakfast and dinner was a major issue at this place. We went for the breakfast in the morning on time and all the trays at the buffet were empty and then before we finished our breakfast they just started winding off everything. Then on the dinner night i had a burger which was not at all good. Totally bland taste.I wonât recommend this place to anyone who loves food.

My partner and I had a lovely one night stay. Room had everything we needed. staff were very helpful. My partner had booked for an evening meal as well as breakfast. Both the dining rooms were clean with great views of the stunning gardens / terrace. The food was great and staff attentive. He had also booked for a sea view room which was also stunning...probably well worth the whatever extra bit of cash he paid to see across the bay. I can't wait to go back đ¤ thanks to all who made are trip memorable

Had lots of help booking an overnight stay and spa treatments for my daughter's special birthday. A stunning building, old and quirky. We had a lovely room overlooking the bay. Lovely garden. Food good. All staff very friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

BELOW AVERAGE FOOD FOR ABOVE AVERAGE PRICESBreakfast was standard for whats expected in Hotels, the usual slightly underdone bacon and scrambled egg that could be served in a slice but generally okay. On our last day there was a young waiter who seemed to be new and offered me gluten free toast as I have a food allergy although no one had done so the previous two days.OTHER THAN BREAKFAST⌠DO NOT EAT AT THE HOTEL RESTAURANT.The reviews and hype about the food being amazing are simply not correct. The food is extremely basic in taste and concept but also overpriced, the dishes are small portions of basic food which has been dressed in an attempt to make them look âfancierâ. It felt like the chef was attempting to disguise average food with a bit of style. To be completley honest with the taste and texture some food items seemed microwaved. There is a complete disparity in quality from what we usually experience at this price point for example the images pictured at top (of the attached) are from Netherwood Hotel and at the bottom a starter and main from another restaurant at the same price point as the Netherwood Hotel. The difference in quality is clear.Hotel Wise if you are going to stay here do not waste money on a superior room, I genuinely went down to reception because I thought we had been given the wrong room, the pictures on the website are not a true representation. Rooms are tired and dated with damaged fittings and finishes. The receptionist assured us the room was correct. The view is stunning but the view cannot fix a badly maintained interior. This place could be amazing because there are some great aspects, the building is beautiful and the Spa is great. The two waiters who look after the bar and some of the wait staff are probably one the hotels best assets!

We booked a superior room with a sea view, but oh my what a let down it was in real life. The room was extremely dated with basic, old, mismatched furniture, and so very small. It is nothing like shown on the superior room pictures on the website. â¨We got to see the other superior rooms whilst they were being cleaned and they were way more spacious, better decorated and had a couch! It doesnât add up that you pay the same price and donât get the same features! What an utter disappointment when we spent extra to treat ourselves to a nice room, and it turns out to be worse than basic. There is nothing superior or luxurious about this at all!The receptionist wasnât friendly or helpful and although she said she couldnât change our room, she wouldnât do anything to compensate. Our boiler was broken too, so no hot water and unable to shower! And the hotel wouldnât do anything or compensate much. We ended up leaving Grange-Over-Sands earlier than planned as it was just such an awful stay!Save yourselves and go elsewhereâŚ

Overpriced, dated rooms sold on nice pictures to which the rooms don't compare. Shower like a 60's military gym. Worn furniture and all needed an update. Helpful friendly staff and good food but spa facilities extra and covid wiped out any treatments we had booked less than 10 minutes before the appointment. Pretty building in nice spot but pick somewhere on the lakes with a decent spa that reflects the pictures and the price.
