Tried to call to reserve a table nobody picked up the phone. Once I arrived explained I tried to call and everything was fully book. Why nobody pick up the phone after calling for the past hour? Woman in the reception was unproffesional and rude. Restaurant is overpriced do not go there is overrated

Apart from a stunning autumnal drive through magical scenery where do I begin...beautiful hotel & lovely grounds ....friendly professional staff who gave excellent service.....the views from the dining room were incredible today and wow the food was a taste sensation .....well done everyone thanku....

An absolutely wonderful place for a special stay. The whole experience was a great. We had the tasting menu with wine, what a treat. The staff are all very professional without being starchy and nothing was too much trouble. We can't wait to go back.

Went to The Samling for Sunday lunch. Meal served can only be described as atrocious. See images. The beef was inedible and we had to send it back. Cost of food knocked off bill however this did not make up for the awful experience. Staggered that any Chef would allow this food out of the kitchen.

From the second we arrived we knew there was something special about the Samling, from the personal welcome to the stunning views of Lake Windemere. The staff were friendly, engaging and attentive. Our room was in the main house, very cosy and comfortable with all the luxuries you would expect. We had pre booked some time in the hot tub which is 100% worth doing, incredible views from a private elevated platform with bar service - heaven!!The restaurant is also a highlight, delicious food with a wonderful outdoor terrace to enjoy drinks on in good weather.When we had drinks in the lounge it was always added to our room bill without us having to sign for anything. Guest convenience and experience is clearly very important to them and it showed!The location of the hotel is great as it's just minutes drive into Ambleside and easy to get to other locations around the lakes.Loved everything about this hotel, would love to go back!

Booked the Samling for my sister's 30th. Everything, from the food, the service to the view of Windermere, was absolutely spectacular. We all had the £30 3 course lunch which was incredible value for money. The additional £28 wine pairing was equally fantastic and great value for money. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed my visit to The Samling Hotel. Beautiful grounds, brilliant food and fantastic views. Service was great from the door to the final bite. My only regret was not going for the wine coupling.
