Rose and Crown in South Lakeland

Excellent ale and food. Landlord and landlady friendly and polite. Scampi was lovely and the steak pie was the best I've had in a pub - proper slice of homemade pie with a pastry top and bottom and lots of filling, not done cheap in a ceramic dish!

We have just had our Sunday roast followed by Sticky Toffee pudding at the Rose & Crown, the food was amazing, the whole atmosphere of the pub is brilliant and the owners are really friendly, we will definitely be returning when next in the area.

We booked a table for over the Easter weekend. This is a great, dog friendly pub with welcoming staff and delicious food. The home made streak pie....oh waw! Definitely THE best I've had.

Thank you for being so accommodating on our last day in The Lakes. The service here is fantastic. The Sunday lunch, just incredible. I'd almost forgotten how brilliant a good pub lunch can be! Super fresh vegetables, perfectly cooked meat and tasty gravy. A good family pub, they were so kind to our daughter. A pleasure to visit.
