Beautiful food, staff are super helpful and polite. We had food from the A La Carte menu and have already said that when we return we are going to give the tasting menu a try!

I cannot speak highly enough about this hotel! It was absolutely incredible.Newly (and beautifully) decorated, it was immaculate throughout. The lounges had roaring fires, which made for a relaxing and cosy night in after a day walking the lakes. We visited with our dog, and it’s the first time we have stayed at a hotel and felt there’s no compromise to be had having him with us. He was treated like a guest, to the extent that when we went for breakfast/dinner a blanket was laid out for him to lay on (there is a separate dining room for dog owners to the guests with dogs. This dining room is of a v high standard you would expect for dining without dogs. The food was absolutely sensational (some of the best food I’ve ever had). Our room was spacious with a rainfall shower, bath, corner sofa, dog bed, bowl and treats for him, he loved it so much it was hard to motivate him to go for a walk! Upon returning he gladly got into the dog shower provided in the boot room, without any persuasion (a first) and was extremely content to lay down and dry by the fire in his robe provided by the hotel. The staff gave him lots of fuss, which he loved. We were late back from a walk on our last morning and believed we had missed breakfast, but the staff asked if we would like it anyway (yes!) which they arranged, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. If dogs aren’t your thing, don’t be put off about it being a dog friendly hotel - they have set it up in a way that you can be entirely separate from them in the dining room and lounge.Absolutely outstanding, would recommend without hesitation, our favourite hotel we’ve stayed in the UK, will definitely be back.

Visited for the taster menu when staying in Ambleside with friends. A little disappointed that whwn it was booked the price was £70 or £75 So very surprised that on the night it was £95! Some prior notice would have been appreciated. It was lovely although the service between courses towards the end of the menu was slow. We finished at 10.45 pm from a 6.30 booking time.

Rothay Manor is a fantastic hotel, in a great location, with some absolutely amazing staff!Timing wise, we were there when Storm Arwen hit, and left much of the area without power, but even with that - we loved our stay and our time at Rothay Manor. Our meal in the Brathay Room was a great start to the weekend, and despite the fact we didn't get the chance to try out the other restaurant as planned, we can't wait to go back. All of the staff were friendly, really helpful and looked after us during what was an immensely busy and crazy time for them both in and out of work.Everything that happened was out of their control, and everyone at Rothay Manor pulled together to support guests and keep things moving.Thank you to everyone! We hope you're on top of things now!We will be back, and we can't wait!

We did not stay overnight as we live in Keswick just 30 mins drive.Booked by accident as we had a voucher bought for us at Rothay garden and realised when we turned up there was no reservation as I had booked the wrong hotel and my phone history search agreed. So glad I made the mistake as the Sunday lunch was incredible. I have a pork allergy also gluten free and this was well catered for.Staff brilliant. Food awesome. Brilliant wine menu. Surroundings and decor beautiful. We can't wait to return.Definitely up there with my favourite places to eat.

Lovely afternoon tea .. too much to eat so the rest was kindly boxed up to take home which was great. Doggie friendly too. Staff very nice and helpful. The only downside was the loud guests in the lounge who obviously thought it was ok to talk above everyone else!! Will definitely go back when a bit quieter..😊

Lovely place, staff are superb, a tight knit team who can't do enough for you to make sure you enjoy your stay despite being run off their feet at times. Dan and his team provide top quality food, you can't go wrong no matter what you pick. Strongly recommend the tasting menu, clever use of ingredients ensures your taste buds are working overtime whilst presentation is pleasing to the eye. Rooms are very clean and very well presented. Thank you to all for a very enjoyable stay.

Going out for dinner doesn't do the restaurant at Rothay Manor justice. We had the great British menu tasting menu and it is a wonderful dining experience. Served at just the right pace, terrific attention to detail - every course brings a new wow! Elsewhere the hotel is tip top with comfortable well appointed rooms, very pleasant nicely decorated communal areas and beautifully maintained gardens. Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall we felt very well looked after and hope to return soon.

From the day we arrived we was greeted amazingly, the staff where happy to help and nothing was to much trouble, they organised a birthday cake for my father in laws 80th and it was delicious. The rooms we had 9 & 10 was big enough and very clean with beautiful views overlooking the garden, the bar tender was so nice and chatty. Stayed for dinner both nights and the food was amazing and perfectly priced, the breakfast was hot fresh and tasty. Without a second thought we will be booking again soon. Thanks to all the staff for making our long weekend great. Keep up the good work ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
