Royal Hotel in South Lakeland

The royal has recently been updated thanks to the new management who have obviously invested time and money into the hotel. The staff and customers are always friendly and it's a nice place for a drink with friends.

More modern than I expected inside from the exterior & location. No cask ales,but friendly enough. It's sat in an unusual dock side location serving very local housing. Lively,even on a Monday lunchtime with music at high volume. Because of location it isn't pub you'd really chance upon by accident but if passing I'd certainly go in again.

The whole place has had a massive spruce up and is absolutely stunning now. The rooms are completely different to pictures posted on here. Wonderful experience and staff are amazing.

Stayed at the royal hotel this week and booked at very short notice, Managed to get a twin room for two people for £50 including bed and breakfast. We were also told on arrival we were entitled to a complimentary drink at the bar so myself and work colleague had a pint of lager each. (Nice touch)The staff were friendly and the full English was very good. I felt the hotel was very good value for money

Friendly staff that couldn't be more helpful. A real shame this hotel is in dire need of many repairs. Room smells like cigarettes, TV broken, shower too hot to use. At least the bedding was clean. Restaurant looks condemned with an abundance of flies. On a high note Fantastic breakfast!!!

The Royal hotel is in the middle of a renovation. The room was basic and looked over the rooftops to the port. The breakfast was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Royal will be even better after the renos are done.

If i could give ZERO stars i would!!! Theres people in the beer garden shouting and laughing, and its 11.45 pm!!! I can also hear the music thumping and im on the 2nd floor! The rooms are unfinished and the en suite is cramped!I wouldn't recomend stopping here of you want to sleep!!Its now 12.15 and there in the beer garden again!!

Good value hotel. Stayed for 4 nights. Staff went out their way to help and actually upgraded my room from a single to a double, which was a nice touch. Meals were huge! I went into bar once to watch the football, and good atmopshere. Good value hotel at its price point.

This is the 3rd time i have stayed at the Royal, and once again it didnt disappoint, lovely friendly staff and freshly decorated room provided yet again another home from home stay. Cant beat the breakfast and the bar food, definitely recommend the hotel to anyone visiting the area.Big thumbs up from me.

The Royal is near my home it has a good local following and many visitors which return often. The food in the restaurant is excellent i can honestly say I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered, the staff are friendly and willing to help when ever ask.
