Royal Oak Inn in South Lakeland

Fantastic stay girls front of house were amazing credit to the Royal Oak,the breakfast was lovely as was the food. The room was small but had everything we needed, only negative was the sink in Bathroom not enough room between taps and selve,that said would go back and recommend thanks for a lovely stay..

The service was impeccable, the truth is that the waiters were very attentive and very friendly. I recommend asking the staff before ordering as some dishes can leave you hungry. but the truth is all very good.

2nd visit with the family on a lovely sunny Saturday. We only had items from the snack section of the menu but they were just as impressive as items on the main menu. The original decor in place provides a typical old pub atmosphere. The friendly wait staff are always happy to help, quick service and a well-stocked bar! We will be back

Don't go there! I wouldn't want too many people to know that it's the best kept beer in Bowness with the friendliest and best staff. And whatever you do, don't drink the Timothy Taylors, it will make you want more. If you're into solids, the food isn't half bad and huge portions. Best go elsewhere.

Cant say I overly enjoyed it here. Table service for drinks which isn't necessary now. Had to take my drink back as it was not very nice. The waitress who served us was very unfriendly, not welcoming at all. Food was ok .

We initially called in for a drink today but wasn't feeling hungry so went for a walk and returned. The service was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic . Wish we had found the pub earlier during our visit.

We love this pub. We go every time we visit the lakes. Great pub grub. And the staff are really good with the service ❗

We stopped in after a nearby hike and we sampled the Cheese on Toast and Chips. Quite honestly the best cheese on toast and chips I’ve had in a long while! Friendly staff who tended to our needs and were very kind and gracious to us who were stopping by and not staying as guests, if they treat everyone this way, then staying must be a real treat!

We sat outside in the late afternoon, a lovely spot with ample cushioned bench seating and each umbrella has its own heater so it's lovely and cosy. Great service, lovely food which was well presented and quickly served considering how busy it was. Dog friendly staff made our two Springers very welcome. Recommended
