San Pietro Restaurant Windermere in South Lakeland

Visited San Pietro on holiday and it was magnificent. The staff were incredibly attentive and overly kind which I have no problem with. San Pietro offers a wide range of authentic Italian dishes and a plethora of amazing wines. My pizza was great and the rest of my table thoroughly enjoyed their food. The decor was homely and the atmosphere was calming. Overall I would definitely recommend San Pietro to anyone looking for authenticity and just good food. Let me start with the good! The food is fabulous and the restaurant decor and ambience is second to none. Now the negative! We booked in the day before for a table of 5 at 5pm. We were really excited about going due to the calibre of the restaurant and reviews. On arrival was shown to our table which was clearly a table designed for 4 with another place shoved on the end. The table was positioned in a tight alcove with no room to manoeuvre for the others. I was positioned on the end and felt like a spare part and couldn't even get my knees under the table. We initially asked if there was another table but was informed there wasn't. I could not hide my annoyance to which the staff became aware and offered to swap us to another table set for five. Still the same size table but we had a lot more room around to manoeuvre and was more comfortable but still not ideal. The table we were previously at was then re-set for 2? This did put a damper on the evening unfortunately! Another negative was two of our starters came on chipped plates. When you are paying top dollar for food this is not what you expect. Good job they redeemed themselves with the quality of the food which was fabulous!

All tasted a bit like Dolmeo to be honest. Portion sizes were good as was the preparation. However, the staff were warm and friendly. I felt I had paid more than what it was worth yet usually, when we have had good food and service I never complain about the price. Sorry, but the food fell short of the mark for us.

Fantastic Restaurant, from the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was to die for and the atmosphere was lovely. The best dining experience we have had for a long time. Well done to all the team working last night as you were tremendous!

We have just visited San Pietro 2 nights running and had a fantastic experience on both occasions. The setting is lovely as were all of the staff and the food was excellent. I can recommend muscles to start and cheese and tomato garlic bread. The sea bass was awesome as was the calzon'e pizza. We were accommodated at very short notice which was a blessing. The restaurant was spotless and a credit to all of the staff.Thanks to Ramona who was really cheerful and good with wine recommendation.A big Thank you we will be back !!

We went here for our anniversary and didn't disappoint. We sat outside which was under cover and had heaters. The food was amazing and presented really nicely. Great meal and reasonable price.

Lucky to get booked in here, but nearly cancelled it as we accidentally ate later than we thought it was at lunchtime meaning we weren’t sure if we were going to waste the sitting or not. However, Windermere being as busy as it is we decided not to waste the slot and ended up having a really good feed. The mussels as a starter and then the carbonara and a salmon fillet as the main and a few decent drinks and we were well away. It did take a while for the main to arrive after I’d finished the starter but that suited us as it gave the appetite time to kick in. Toilets were very clean. They only accept cash tips for the waiting staff.

I read the review and booked hoping that it lived up to its reputation. It absolutely does. The food is phenomenal; pizza and pasta were both gorgeous. The staff are super friendly to. The half and half garlic bread is a must!

Oh man, what yummy Italian food!We didnt book a table, but the staff were fun and attentive so we got in and had a good crack on with them.The menu was lush and the food even better. It was nice and warm out, which added to the clean and nature filled aesthetic they had gone for.Honestly felt like we were in a restaurant in Italy by a lake. It was really wonderful.
