Got engaged here 25 years ago. Went back Thursday with my oldest son, (place hasn't changed too much from what I remember) Food was great, staff all lovely and very helpful! Awesome views...

Crispy chicken burger and chips with onion rings... looked amazing.. however the onion rings were very oily, the chicken "burger" was 2 chicken breasts that had been deep fried and they were dry. Normally a good meal here, so disappointing. Staff nice and attentive. Views are gorgeous over the lake.

Found opposite one of the car parks. The outside seating has views over the lake. This is pay at the bar for these seats with your table number. If you wish to eat inside its normal table service. The pin number to the toilets is at the bottom of your receipt.Food was average, reminded me a bit of beefeater style, my meat was a little dry like it had been under the hot plate for hours, and the steak wasn't the best.Great for some quick grub, but not a dress up kinda place....

Just spent the late afternoon here in the sunshine. Great selection of drinks at the bar, and lovely food when we decided to dine. Quite a limited menu, but served by polite and busy servers.Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Great view and food! I would have liked a few more options on the menu but still ok! Very friendly staff!

Went here last weekend, the place was really busy with people drinking and eating. Nice and warm, good buzz about the place and the staff were really friendly and helpful. We were just planning to have drinks but ended up ordering a sharing platter. We managed to get a seat in the window overlooking the lake. Highly recommended. Food was 5 star and only took about 20 mins to arrive after we ordered. A pint of lager was around £6ish and the sharing platter was £17, which we though was reasonable for the location.

Had a great meal here in Feb 2022. I've been to Bowness many times over the years but never been into The Ship before. The food was great and so was the beer. I had the roast turkey which was great and my wife had the steak and ale pie which was even better. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. On a cold February night it was nice and warm in the Ship and we had a table by the window with a view over the lake.

The ship inn is amazing! It's a usual visit when we're in bowness with a lovely building that looks over the lake itself with a lovely outdoor seating area that has amazing views! The restaurant is comfortable serving more traditional pub food but there's something for everyone! Our party had fish and chips, burgers and a vegan burger which was all amazing quality and portion size and reasonable priced. They have a decent bar with everything you need for a pint while you have some dinner! We noticed they also have the sport and football on so it's definitely an option if you're visiting while the footy is on, great place all in all

Had Fish and chips which was very nice, one of the best. Second day ordered wings that had a lot of hair on them and they tasted like the wings were microwaved for about 6 times. Disgusting. Staff are very nice and very nice location, unfortunately the food is horrible.
