Pie of the day, ham, leek and blue cheese was really good. The burger with blue cheese was disappointing, lovely coleslaw and chips. The dining area is very pleasant and spacious. The only downside was the service. We waited over half an hour to have the table cleared and to be offered deserts, by which time we were ready to leave.

Lovely establishment. Period, characterful dining space. Friendly and efficient staff. Beer was cold, food was hot. Perfect. Ordered from the early bird menu. We were not disappointed by the quality or portion sizes and left satisfied, both in choice of venue and amount of food consumed.Thank you for your hospitality.

Welcoming, friendly greeting. Nice pub.Plenty of choice on the menu to choose from light or full meal. Kids menu too. Dog friendly.Food is freshly cooked so be patient but you'll be glad when it arrives, worth the wait. Reasonably priced too.Recommended.20mins walk through nice scenery from the campsite via the farm shop. (Need it to walk of the lovely food)

The place was really busy, we had booked a table for 2 and were taken to the first floor, it was a lot quieter and more intimate. We were served straight away and once the meal was ordered it was very quick at arriving. The staff were efficient and friendly We had the roast beef and roast lamb dinners, it was gorgeous, the best roast dinner I've had for a long time. I would highly recommend this establishment. Well done to all at the Strickland Arms ❤️

A very nice pub/restaurant set in lovely surroundings. Nice atmosphere with friendly staff. Meal was very nice but a little bit on the pricey side. But we will definitely be back.

A great local spot. The food is really tasty and service very chilled but attentive. We had booked for an early evening dinner, asking them to keep roasts aside. Was really happy about that.

This is only our second time to The Strickland Arms and we weren't disappointed!Despite having a large party and the bar full to capacity, our waitress managed to find us a table upstairs. We were even offered a table downstairs when one came available.Delicious food and excellent service. We'll be back 😍 Thanks so much!

Nice country pub with large beer garden to side. I order the Lancashire Lamb hotpot which was very tasty served with red cabbage and a bread roll which was very small. On comparison with elsewhere the portion size was small, some fresh veg served with it would of been nice.Good choice of real ale served and close to motorway.

Stopped here for Sunday lunch on our way back from the lakes. The service was superb plenty of staff on to deal with everyone. I had the lamb Sunday roast which was amazing lots of lamb, all elements cooked perfect. My partner she had the hake Kiev which was beautiful and really well presented. A perfect end to a lovely vacation.

Stayed 4 nights in a room on first floor. Breakfast was fab, the breakfast service was great and the staff recommended walks, running routes, places to see. They were so good. Ate there three evenings. great food and great staff... Generous portions and good prices. Fish pie, slow cooked lamb, and steak pie... It was just fab... Hubby had curry, steak and fish and chips. Good choice of hind, ales and cider. We really enjoyed our stay... Sorry no food pics. Visited laceys caves, derwent water, Appleby and ullswater whilst there.
