A traditional style cafe with a river terrace out the back - I think it used to be a watermill. Watch the river flow under you while you have an all day breakfast - veggie or meat available. We thought about having rarebit - they looked very good on a neighbouring table. Dogs welcomed as you would expect in this area, you can head over to the Hawkshead brewery for a pint afterwards.

Wilf's used to be a mobile van serving the mountain bike races in the 90's. Established this permanent location in Stavely sometime in the 2000's it is one of the best cafés I've used. Excellent range of food and drink, friendly staff, comfortable seating indoor and out. Great service. Highly recommended.

Excellent food and service - the staff were very friendly! Great food to have after a long day of walking on the nearby Beckmickle Ing walking route. Also a good kid's menu. Would definitely recommend!

Really nice for a breakfast in Staveley, and the art by local artists is all very good, we purchased three of them and it made our trip!

It was great. Food excellent and hearty portions. Dog friendly and had treats for them too. First visit but it won't be our last!! 5*

Went in late afternoon as they were about the close, still got a fantastic welcome and I was buying just a sandwiches. Dropped in the next day for breakfast before leaving the area after a short stay, same again, very warm welcome and both my wife and I enjoyed a very good cooked breakfast. Menu seems to cover a good range of dishes for all taste and very reasonably priced too. Lovely area and surroundings too. Would recommend it if you are in the area.

There was probably a time where what these guys served up would have passed muster. Unfortunately, time and the food industry have past them by and this tired cafe with its dire food, watery soups and coffee that looks, smells and taste like drain run off really doesn’t meet anyones minimum standards. The interior is dated, drab and dingy. The service is okay, but slow and the menu really is over priced for what it is.Given the competition in the yard now, we struggled to work out how it’s still going….I assume by the very fact that there is a captive audience of walkers, bikers and tourists it gets passing trade. But if it had to survive as a stand alone venture, it would quickly run into problems. It’s a shame because all the other units in this area have really thought about their offering, so for this to be so poor is a sad reflection. Best avoided.

Recommended by our campsite and it didn’t disappoint. Lovely waterside views, proper honest food and a great place for a post-cycle snack!
