Amazing place to visit, a warm welcome and excellent food.

·

Lovely palce, fantastic views over Coniston water.

·

Found by accident when out on a drive. Brilliant location which was used in the film of the same name. Food locally sourced and well worth the cost. Picture is view across lake

We had visited here before on previous visits to the Lakes, this year we arrived at 3pm on a Friday afternoon, looking forward to a cream tea (selection of cakes expected as per previous experiences while enjoying the stunning views). All that was available were 4 scones. I would have expected a greater selection at this time of day on a Friday afternoon, most disappointed!!

Rude and disappointing: sign at top of road, said they were open, but unpleasant man in house said they were closed. We are locals but won’t ever try to eat there again

This place is such a gem. Food first class, beautiful place to stay. Views amazing. Dinner on sat night was of such an excellent standard and service spot on. Well done guys

·

Excellent food freshly made. Exceptional views over the Coniston Lake. Peaceful atmosphere. We will defend be back for more and we will also book one of their cottage here. Oh, they have good local beers too :)

·

Beautiful little tearoom- stopped for Coffee+ cakes- + a few wines! View is spectacular across Coniston Lake- so relaxing + peaceful- nice little shop as well. Staff super friendly - we will be back nxt year!

Was truly disappointed with this place. Walked all the way from Coniston based on reviews and was faced with tables piled high with empty cups etc. Only 2 choices left and zero cakes and it wasn’t even tea time! Toilet overflowed with hand towels and we had to go and chase for service twice! So. Sorry. I give this one star. Meadowdore cafe in town centre had a lush display of cakes. Bitterly disappointed I had put all my hopes on this place. Stunning view but a view needs good food with it.

Amazing.... a hidden gem, we spotted the sign on the road and took a chance for lunch as knew Coniston where we were heading would be super busy. Sooooooo glad we gave it a go.We hadn't booked and were lucky enough to get a table (I'd recommend booking to save disappointment). The boys agreed it was the best bacon butty and burgers ever, I had a delicious cream tea with homemade scone and raspberry jam. All made from local farm produce. We've got to go back soon to try their amazing selection of homemade cakes.Great friendly welcoming service, and good to see the Covid safe working practices.
