The Bakery at No. 4 in South Lakeland

We got our wedding cake from The Bakery at No.4 and it was superb! We are currently living in Devon so didn’t know Kendal very well and we chose The Bakery based off their reviews, website and photos and they definitely lived up to expectation. We went to the cake tasting and were blown away with the variants of cake flavours on offer and came out with totally different flavours than we went in wanting! We ordered a semi-naked cake with 3 different flavoured layers – raspberry & white chocolate, lemon & elderflower and chocolate Guinness. Our cake went down a storm at our wedding, everyone loved the flavours and guests since have commented on how good the cake looked/tasted! Thank you so much Melissa and we will pop in for a cake and coffee next time we are in Kendal.

Great coffee and a most delicious freshly cooked leek n cheese quiche. Loved it here.

I wed recently (20th Nov) at Sawrey House Hotel, Near Sawrey. The Bakery at No.4 made our cake and what an amazing cake it was. The decoration and presentation was beautiful, and the flavours were so good as to be described as divine. All our guests sang nothing but praise and I would suggest to anyone wanting a wedding cake to try The Bakery at No.4.Also, after being to the bakery I also had a brownie which was amazing - so if you don't need a wedding cake, just go there for cake and coffee.

This is my go to coffee shop in Kendal. Only serves cakes with hot and cold drinks but nails it! Bravo

Great cakes and all kinds of sweet treats. Got one not long ago, and with wife's birthday coming soon, will be visiting again to get more goodies.Must visit when in Kendal!

I can highly recommend going to visit this amazing place for all manner of tasty treats. Absolutely outstanding cakes, coffee, supurb customer service with a smile. Excellent all round was really impressed. Will be coming again soon.

Our wedding cake from The Bakery at No.4 was amazing. Their service was fantastic, even through the Covid pandemic. We were able to sample all of the available flavours and the final cake looked as good as it tasted!

This place is a gem of a tea room, with amazing staff and cakes to die for. Definitely worth a visit

A very well hidden little gem, filled with many, many cakes. There is a charm to this place which pictures really can't justify, somehow managing to feel both old worldly and modern at the same time. The cakes are excellent, the staff friendly and cheerful plus they have toys for the kids to play with. Top place, well worth a visit.
