The Boathouse Bar & Restaurant in South Lakeland

Exceeded my expectations, I would have been happy with OK but enjoyed Excellent, a view shared by all of our party of 5.Amongst the dishes eaten were:Chilli and garlic prawns;Pork steak;Vegan Risotto, the first two my choices, the third tried for the purposes of research and all excellent!Wonderful atmosphere, great food, brilliant staff, good selection of wine and beer and … great value for money.What more could anyone want?

Nice place and staff. Ham hock starter tasteless however seafood linguine nice. A friend had the mussels and could not eat them as they were full of grit and lukewarm. I do think that they had staffing issues so maybe that was the problem.

What a gem of a place. Lovely lunch despite the awful weather outside. Really good service and relaxing ambience. Highly recommended

We had the Crab and King Prawn Risotto and Beef Burger! Lovely food and great helpful staff. Food was served quickly and will definitely be back again!

Been there 3x recently due to us looking at purchasing a boat . The food is fantastic, my salmon was just perfect, my husband had their burger, ginormous. Set in a lovely location and lovely service.

Great food, excellent service and a good array of drinks. One star taken off because my personal enjoyment was diminished somewhat as I suffer from allergies from dogs and, as you'd expect for the location, this is a dog friendly place.

Despite the warnings, we turned up at the boathouse without a booking ,on Wednesday evening but were greeted warmly and able to have a table outside in the unexpected sunshine. My wife did not want anything too heavy so had the Garlic prawns starter with a side of fries which she thoroughly enjoyed. I had the duck leg with peppercorn sauce , slightly underwhelming but fine.Followed by a surprisingly good Cappuccino and a Tia Maria floater coffee not on the menu but cheerfully provided and went down very well .Not fine dining but an enjoyable meal in s really lovely setting.

Great little spot with views over the marina. On a sunny evening it’s great to sit up top and with the large doors open watching the sunset. The food was okay and the service was a little slow - probably because it was the Easter weekend and the place was rammed. Regardless, the service was still friendly - they could have just done with more staff. Would recommend if you’re in the area and want a nice atmosphere and nice bites.
