Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, comfortable room. Highly recommended.

We called in after a walk in the area. Although the hotel was shutting down briefly for staff holidays, they were able to give us a decent selection of drinks and a warm fire (and a warmer welcome)! Plentiful water and bowls for the dogs as well, and our pack loved the place.

Great for a short break with good walking on the doorstep...no need to use the car. Real ale in the bar and extensive menu. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Will definitely return

A lovely, unostentatious Lakeland hotel in an attractive setting with friendly staff, good food and dog friendly!

These days good place for a beer. Accomodatuon standards now poor and food often seriously inedible. From a guests point of view complaints galore, from poorly cooked breakfasts and cold stewed coffee, to evening meals with undercooked vegetables served with ill seasoned meat dishes.Kitchen standards are in desperate need of improvement.There are for sure, much better places to stay...

Great location. Comfy clean spacious rooms with tea coffee chocolate biscuits. Nice breakfast, helpful and attentive staff. Will visit again.

Good Sunday roast. Shame the choice of beer was just Jennings and Banks brewery. So many good local beers in the area are being ignored. Beer £4.50 and served with a small head, so close to an actual pint in a brim measure pint glasses.

Lovely welcome and a great stay for 3 days. We had 3 rooms, all very comfortable and clean. Very dog friendly and homely throughout our stay. The food was great, both the breakfast and evening meals. A great base for Langdale Valley. Thank you for making our break so nice.
