Friendly and welcoming. Food good. Not a budget choice but served our group well. Accommodated bikes where they could.

The food was better than the Brittania in Chapel Stile but the atmosphere wasn't there. The beers were OK too so it depends what you want. I'd go back.

Bluebird ale, love it! Had a Steak, ale & mushroom pie; very nice indeed, though the gravy lacked body (Better gravy at the Talbot Bar!) My hubby's ploughman's looked incredible though, know what I'm having next time...

My girlfriend and I dinned there and had drinks on over our visit to the area. It's was a sunny busy weekend and this pub restaurant dealt with the volume of tourist visiting better than anywhere I've been. Polite, efficient staff work very hard in an effortless way to make everyone very content .

If you are lucky enough to grab a table outside on the patio - enjoy great food and drinks. Recommend the Chilli Duck burger and a pint of Bluebird.

Lovely little pub , gets very busy so outdoor seating comes in very handy can't complain when it's such a beautiful village , food & staff great , forgot to take photos

Nice light lunch - great beers... not cheap though - even for the Lake District, but friendly service and a stunning location... worth every penny

Lovely place to stop for a beer in the sun, south facing seating area and good range of beers. Had a meal in the restaurant, very good pub food and particularly enjoyed the pies! Friendly and attentive staff. Visited 3 times in a week so voted with feet!

Like everywhere in the Lake District a little bit pricey compared to home. Food is good, good local beers seem always to be in excellent condition, service is quick, staff are friendly and whenever I've been there has always been a very pleasant atmosphere in the bar with it's log fire crackling away merrily.

Food was quite pricey and fairly mediocre. Our table was very sticky and when we mentioned it to the bar staff were told that its because of the varnish on the table.Service was okay. Didn't have to wait too long. If you have a choice, I'd maybe go elsewhere, but if you're starving whilst out on a walk, you may as well drop in
