The Cross Keys in South Lakeland

It was very bad experience, lots of dust everywhere not clean, old building and no breakfast only they have some tea and coffee but they charged me breakfast cost , also management is not good I never recommed any one here, rather then staying this hotel you can stay at road that will be more good then here.

We stayed on our way to Scotland. And it was a lovely stay both rooms where lovely. Breakfast was great very attentive. Highly recommend.

Cosy room, the staff was very kind and caring. The shower switched from hot to icecold... but for this price I definitely recommend it!

We arrived very early for a stay over on 17th and 18th March 2022. No problem, and was shown to our very comfortable room. Carl 'the landlord' was the very best host, nothing was to much trouble for him, such a warm reception. The hotel was clean, beer kept well and he was a fantastic host. We found out that he and his partner had only just taken over the hotel and had great intentions for the place. It is a very old coaching Inn with loads of character and history. We wish them both all the best and will highly recommend the our experience to anyone. We will be returning int the near future. Thankyou both love malc and cally, room 5

Shocking place to stay. Dirty and needs a hug revamp if it's going to try and live upto the price. It could be an awesome place to stay but it's terrible from start to finish!

Unfortunately I had a disappointing stay, the check in staff were friendly, the room was clean very warm and comfortable. The room however was very very dated, the shower wasn’t working correctly (scalding hot to freezing cold), no staff around to report this issue to in the morning, restaurant for prepaid breakfast was locked and again no staff around so had to try and source breakfast elsewhere, (the Bull Head across the road looked good). Contacted the hotel to discuss the issues and after a week have had no reply from the general manager so reluctantly leaving a poor review.

Such great value. Lovely clean room with a big bathroom and bath, great proper pub with nice good value food. Would highly recommend.

Unfortunately, we called in, just after a change of management, which has left them short of staff, so we couldn't order food. We will however call again in the coming months. Please be aware that the car park is pay only, unless you are going to have a drink in the pub.

Really great experience! The owners and staff are so helpful and welcoming. Comfortable rooms, good service and great food/drinks. Plenty parking space and a lovely big beer garden. It's in a really great location and the village is pretty to walk around. It was a really good experience and would highly recommend. I'll definitely book here again when i'm going to that area. 10/10 :)

A happy homely welcome here! An old fashioned comfortable pub with pool table, the odd fruit machine and a good greeting. Good sized beer garden next to a large car park so no worries about your vehicle. Excellent selection of ales and pub cuisine well cooked and presented. Great staff, well behaved dogs and owners welcomed! Relax and enjoy on the A6, at Milnethorpe's main crossroads!
