Unfortunately we found the ploughman's lunch somewhat bland. The cheese was good, the small amount of pie - pretty tasteless and the piece of sad sausage roll should have been left off. The wedge of bread was ok but no butter was provided. And it wasn't cheap. The best thing was the locally pressed apple juice

Visited here twice this week. Once for drinks and once for food. Both were excellent and the staff were very friendly. Brilliant service.

What a fab pub this is!! A little gem. Great food, i had roast beef and it was to die for. Stayed the night in one of the cosy rooms which was perfect, big roll top bath and the water is nuclear hot!!! Lovely staff too.The full english breaky was fab too, one of the best if not the best on the trip around Scotland. On way home when i stayed here. Highly recommend the Derby Arms

Had a lunchtime drink on way to campsite. Didn't find it very welcoming and there was an issue with the beer pumps so in the end we had to choose an alternative despite several attempts. We would have used during our weekend away but this experience made us decide not to unfortunately.

After a busy day decided upon pub grub but being easter week found our go-to venues fully booked. This pub seems to cater for locals well although it was quiz night, some good ales at the bar. Regarding food, really wished we had stay at home. Poor service, burnt batter on the wafer thin fish, teeth breaking chips, pea soup for mushies, tarter sauce just tasted wrong.... Not quite like advertised, how do you get it so wrong?

Great two nights! Myself, my husband and dogs had a very comfortable stay. Rooms/en suite clean and functional. Amazing value for money and excellent breakfast! If I had to make a criticism it would be that the pub has varying closing times depending on custom and because the pub is remote there is no alternative which means we had a couple of early nights…. I will bare this in mind on my next visit and totally understand the reasoning behind it in the current climate. New management since our last visit four years ago and a noticeably improved. We will definitely be back as we have family in the village. Great location to for all The Lakes has to offer.

Took my family on a wet and cold February Saturday night and it was excellent. The service was quick and polite and the food was gorgeous. Honestly I can say the steak and Guinness pie was the tastiest I've ever had. The setting was a old fashioned English pub with 3 roaring open fires and dogs are welcome. Can't wait to visit again!

The place is nice inside and nice location. However, I ordered a pie for lunch and it was minescule and came with a very small portion of mash. Had to ask for more sides as there was maybe half what you would usually get. Also, sort the gents toilets out, disgusting and stinks of urine.

Proper pub, very hospitable, bed super comfy, loved the place . Only complaint is it was not clear when or how to have breakfast, i had to move on early so missed it but i was given a 'latte to go!' Will definitely stay again with the Mrs
