The First Floor Cafe at Lakeland in South Lakeland

It's busy on a Saturday but the gave us a buzzer for a 20minute wait. The staff are very efficient and the food comes quickly. There are screens between tables and tables are wiped down between customers. It is upstairs but there is a small lift. The food was delicious and I had a Guiche Lorraine and my wife had Cauliflower Cheeses soup which looked very creamy, with white bloomer bread. My earl grey came with a tea strainer, and extra hot water. Something you usually have to ask for. My wife was offered a free glass of tap water. The service is very good and the food tasty. The salad came with a balsamic style dressing. We would come here today. There is a view but on a day like today not so good. We will come again.

Popped in for a sandwich and hot chocolate- incredibly tasty, with great service and was super value too. Even better they let my dog in too - great to have a dog friendly place like this.

Excellent staff, fast ordering and serving. Very very good soup: both the mushroom and the chicken noodle obviously homemade.A doorstop granary slice of crusty bread, plus large portion of clean crispy fries, a cappuccino and a huge piece of Battenburg. All came to a bargain £21.00, outstanding service an quality of food.Shame we don’t live closer

Myself and my husband holiday in the lakes every year but its the first time we've had lunch here. Will definitely be back!! Lovely food and friendly efficient service

Had breakfast there early in the day, maybe 09:30. The bacon seemed to have been precooked, then warmed, it was very hard, and the poached eggs were both hard. The sausages, black pudding, tomato, and toast were all really good. My Wife thoroughly enjoyed her toast & peanut butter. The young man who served us was very pleasant. Everywhere was extremely clean. We will call again, but never for a breakfast!

Really pleasantly surprised by the First Floor Cafe at Lakeland. We only really went because we were a little early for the shop, and I can honestly say this was one of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time. All the produce was fresh and very well cooked. The hash browns were absolutely amazing, as were the poached eggs. It was also reasonably priced.

Excellent food - try the salads! The price may seem a bit on the higher side but it's absolutely worth every penny. All the food around us looks stunning. Amazing espresso from a true barista machine. Great views from the rooftop bar.
