We had a pretty decent lunch at The Flying Pig Pub. Their Fish and Chips comes in a massive portion. The batter is super light and crispy, and goes well with their homemade tartare sauce. Try out their local Cask Ales to cool off during the hot summer season!

The bar is on the small side. Service was slow for a Saturday (early evening). Only just had enough shot glasses for our 4x Baby Guiness as we were told "all the others have been smashed". Ambience is lacking slightly. Preferred to sit outside and watch the world go by as there's heating and outside speakers (playing 80s hits).

On a couple of nights away, staying in nearby village. Walked past this morning before opening time and pub looked lovely from the outside so we returned this evening hoping for a bite to eat before we headed out on evening cruise on the lake.We were greeted by a friendly barman with a smile, who took our drink and food order. A smile means a lot now a days with how busy hospitality is and how short staffed establishments are.Food was fab, well presented, tasted amazing and we didnt have a long wait. A lovely selection of drinks, a beer fitting to the jubilee too.We left for the cruise returning two hours later for a quick drink, we were greeted back by the same barman who again was very friendly and attentive.Fab atmosphere, lovely setting and friendly staff, means a lot, especially in the current situation of hospitality. Thank you and well done all

Lovely setting. Dog friendly, but clean. The food was absolutely beautiful. We only popped in for a quick lunch but were very pleasantly surprised. Friendly and helpful staff. Definitely recommend try the food here. It was so good. And good value for money

The food was great and some of the staff was nice, but some other could have had a better mood/customer service skills. Also disappointing when we walked past in the morning and asked to make a table reservation and they said they don’t take bookings. Then when we went in there were 2 tables reserved, lol

Good pub. No frills. Reasonable drink selection. Staff friendly. Food was fabulous. Fish and chips couldn't have been any better. Chorizo and seafood pasta delicious. Kids meals a little less exciting but they were happy. Would definitely revisit on a future holiday.

Wonderful place in the heart of Windermere, just a couple of minutes walk from the mere itself! I've been a few times in the past and haven't got a bad word to say about it!It's a traditional style pub with modern facilities, a lovely fire in the corner and it's dog friendly! The staff are brilliance and naturally friendly, willing to help and have a chatThe food is absolutely brilliant with something for everyone, they have lunch and mains, sides and smaller bites, loads of vegan and vegetarian options aswell!Loads of good local beer and ale but they also do teas and coffee! You would be happy with a flying visit and a pint after a walk, a simple coffee in the afternoon relaxing or a delicious evening meal! Can't beat it, I'd 100% recommend the Flying pig!

Foot was great, dog friendly too. Decent atmosphere, service could have been better, not asked or told were to get condiments. Mussels and fries to die for 😋

The food was nice but its just not worth to wait. We were arrived about 30 minutes than the table next to us and they get their food before we do, we get our starter about 50 minutes after we arrived. They clean our starters about 20 minutes after we finished it. And we get our main 15-20 minutes later. When someone order a mussels, the waiter should've brought a soup spoon and a water in the bowl to wash the hand. It's just shame, they have a big restaurant with many workers but its chaotic.
