Good location Lovely building Room needs updating, carpet was threadbare and stained, wallpaper torn in parts, room very warm as on the top floor and window only opened a couple of inches. Shower reached tepid at the best, had to ask for a plug for the sink.

Lovely cocktails! A bit on the pricey side but lovely cosy seats and warm lamp heaters to keep you warm from the cold. All in all would go again 👍

Was in desperate need for dinner after over a 4 hour journey and we thought we'd give this pub a try. It was a wonderful welcome from the staff and very friendly throughout. We had the homemade pie and the chicken burger, both being excellent meals. Would definitely pop in again!

It isn't a hotel in the sense of you classifying it as a hotel but it is a place to sleep more akin to a place slightly better than a youth hostel. If you were a business man you would be annoyed if your work booked it as a hotel. You wouldn't expect to pay more than 30 per night for the rooms because they're not worth it. The beer is five quid a pint too. The food was nice but if I booked a week there I'd be unhappy and wished I'd gone for a premier inn. Nothing wrong with it, it just isn't the quality I would normally go for.

When is steak and ale pie not a pie ? when it's a pudding !! Went to the bar and asked if the pie was steak and ale. Yes was the answer so I ordered two. What turned up was 2 steak puddings. It was also advertised as homemade food and the steak pudding definitely wasn't. Very disappointing. I'm ok with suet but my wife just didn't enjoy hers as it's not really her thing. Why didn't I send it back? Well there was nothing else we wanted on the menu and we really fancied a steak pie. The glass of sauvignon and pint of Guinness were good.

Great location on quiet main road , accomodation at the back of the property no noise of a night time with lovely views. Adequate breakfast for £8 cereals, juice, coffee, toast,Full English. Staff Helpful And Courteous, Would Stay Again.

Not greatly impressed. Went for food but had to wait nearly an hour after ordering. Then when it finally arrived had to go and search for cutlery. There was a table of about 8 people in and they seemed to be getting all of the attention and we were ignored. Food was good but service was bad.

Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff! Located in town with only a couple minutes walk in the centre. Rooms were clean and had a plenty of room for putting away belongings. Comfortable bed which meant a good night sleep. Reasonable price rooms in comparison to other B&B in the area. Great pubs and restaurants near by and only less than a mile away for Lake Windermere. Only negative was that in our room there was only a sliding door to the ensuite bathroom which could not be locked or shut. However, would recommend to other visitors!

Stayed for a night in a small room with windows that don't close properly. There was heating, but it automatically turns off at some point through the night, so I woke up feeling really cold. The room was also very noisy, both from some fans outside the hotel and from other nearby rooms.I had dinner with them and the food was just average: no terrible, but nothing to write home about. However, the breakfast is fatty and tasteless and should be avoided. I was also told there would be croissants and pastries and there were none.I would rate this 3 stars if it hadn't been for an incident where they told me I can leave my luggage for a few hours the following day, but then wanted me to pay for this the following morning, in cash and without getting a receipt. Take this as you will.

Great food, great atmosphere, great staff and make you feel very welcome, plenty of food on the plate, even the kids struggle to Finish the smaller portion. Pool table is a little old and unloved but it still works and is good enough for the kids to mess about.
