Having read the other reviews, I can only assume I was unlucky when I visited this establishment on 22/06/22. Everywhere else in Bowness was very busy so my wife and I ate here because it was pretty empty at 7.00 pm. We sat inside, downstairs, near the front. There was a musty smell and flies. It took a long time to be given our menus and even longer to take our order. There seemed to be enough staff but we were just ignored. Once we ordered, our drinks did not turn up for ages. We could see our bottle of Malbec wine on a tray at the bar but, for whatever reason, staff kept doing other things before eventually bringing it over. I ordered fish and chips, while my wife opted for a burger and chips. When our meals turned up I was given a very small piece of fish. For the price charged I expected more than that. The quantity of chips was fine. My wife ordered cheese with her burger and a very tiny slither cost an extra £2. Overall, it was an expensive (£53.85) and disappointing evening. We never went back again.

Simply amazing breakfast! Wonderfully poached eggs, soft fresh bread, quality sausages and maple bacon was delicious. Seems to be the only breakfast place open before 10am so was very busy around 9am. Short wait but 100% worth it!

Cozy restaurant near Lake Windermere in Bowness.Fantastic, quality, full English breakfast, the “Magic Breakfast” at reasonable price. As can be seen from photos, consists of large quantity of American-style thick bacon, 2 sunny-side-up eggs, 2 Cumberland sausages, baked-beans, 2 frozen hash browns, mushrooms, black-pudding, baby tomatoes, very thick fresh toasted bread, and some needless garnish :)Large cappuccino was good size, not overly-large and made with good freshly-ground coffee.Orange juice was not up to same standards imo.Service was impeccable: quick, friendly, responsive and flexible.Dogs are welcomed both on either of the small outside patios or inside. May even get a treat and a fuss for the dog if it’s quiet.

Really nice cosy place to eat and have a few drinks! Service was good and very friendly. Would definitely recommend the food, portion size is very decent (massive main meals!!) And good quality.

Beautiful place, excellent service, was told there could be a bit of a wait as there was a big group upstairs but the food came very fast and was delicious 😍 Very good cocktails, highly recommend 👌

Very tasteful meals. Good price and very good quality. Music in the background is not to loud and make amazing environment.

We pre-booked a table of 12 for a special birthday and what a night it was!The staff are absolutely amazing and made us feel so at home and welcomed. The food arrived quickly and all hot and fresh for such a large group. The portions are very generous for the prices. We ended up coming back again for lunch the following day as it was very hard to get a large table. They were shut upstairs but offered to open for us.Shame we didn’t get the name of the main waiter but he was a true gent and is an asset! We will be back and have recommended others already.

The food here is lovely. They have. A large selection of dishes across breakfast, lunch and dinner. The portion sizes are some of the largest I have ever seen, the pictures on Instagram and internet don’t do the food justice.Great selection of drinks and spirits. It’s a small restaurant that is in need of a spruce up and the toilets do let them down ever so slightly. The staff are amazing and so helpful and great with families. We were a large group and they did the best to accommodate and were wonderful.

Place was full on a weekend and as a result, the wait staff were harried and service felt rushed.Food wise, the pancakes were disappointing. They looked nicely presented, but the inside was tough, dry, and stodgy (see closeup pic). It also came slathered in sweet sauce (didn't taste like maple) which was overwhelming. The full English breakfast was average. The eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and bread were fine. However, the bacon was extremely salty, and sausages were overcooked such that they were dry and hard. Finally, the coffee was probably straight out of a button-press machine - burnt and acidic.Plenty of positive reviews here, but I left feeling completely underwhelmed.
