Brilliant meal very hot and well presented. Helpful friendly staff. We have been before and will call again. 😀

The food was amazing had the garlic chicken on Lebanese flatbread. Huge side portion of onion rings as well.Staff friendly and attentive.Well recommended.

Had the roast chicken. Overall a good meal only fault I could find is that the fondant potato tasted like it was deep fried and not cooked down in stock. And veg slightly overcooked.

·

Had dodgy food here many years ago but not had a bad meal since then. Really wholesome honest food with a nice choice of specials. Local brews on tap but could benefit from a few more ales on tap.

The best family meal we've had in a long time. Came to the restaurant on a saturday afternoon and was so impressed that we had to return on the Sunday for the roast dinner.

The staff were lovely, I like the rustic decor and relaxing ambiance. The portions are huge! Everyone enjoyed their food and the specials menu had some great options but I would have liked another vegan option on the menu other than battered tofu.

Poor. Wouldn't even give it a star. The reviews on this Pub are great, however it definitely isn't. The food is below average, we arrived on the Sunday for a nice Sunday dinner to be served a plate of rubbish. It came fairly quick however, The beef was overcooked and tastless, the roast potatoes were absolutely rock hard like they'd been kept warm for a month. The veg was poor, a carrot with a big dirty hole in, leeks On a beef dinner? Tastless hard cabbage. The gravy was like water which was a pot shared between two people. The Yorkshire pudding was burnt. The mash was that instant rubbish and was just horrid. The pudding was no better, white chocolate, raspberry and peach pudding. It had been microwaved and the outside sponge was hot and the inside freezing cold. Disgusting place. I would rather wait that bit longer for a half decent dinner done with abit more care and thought. The waitress asked if everything was OK with the meal, I was so taken back by the food served I think my face said it all.

Visited this place on our stay at the Lakes and we made such a good choice. The food was exceptional and they let us have our dogs with us in the back garden. After ordering we had to wait for our food, but it was worth every minute. Would totally recommend it, the staff was nice, the prices are affordable and it is just a really pleasant place in the heart of the Lake District peninsulas. Worth a visit. 😃

Had a lovely meal here. Staff were friendly and polite. Food was cooked and prepared well. Reasonably priced. Dog friendly. Parking available. Pub was clean and tidy. Hand sanitizer on entrances. Toilets were clean.

2/5 .. low score due to very long wait. 50 mins for main, 40 for desert afterwards. There was only 2 other couples dining at this time.Came here with the family for a meal, we all had food from the very reasonable 2 courses for £10 menu. Very good value. The mains were all fresh, hot and tasty. The deserts were supposed to be warm... but as we were waiting so long for it they clearly went cold. The value is there, food is nice, very nice building and polite staff... would have been 5/5 if it wasn't for such a long wait with no apology.
