We had a busy morning and wanted a relaxing sit down and tea and sandwiches. The cafe gave us exactly what we wanted. It was reasonably priced and very friendly.

Very friendly including to our spaniel! Lovely wood fire, top stop for a coffee and a bacon barm (£3.50 Dec21) well worth it on a typical lake District day!

·

Stopped here for lunch - the owners were lovely and friendly, the tea room feels homely and the food was fresh and delicious. Hot chocolate and coffee were also very good. Nice little shop as well, selling some basics and some souvenirs.

·

Wonderfully friendly little cafe with outdoor seating. There wasn't a free picnic bench when we arrived but they happily put out another one for us.Dog friendly and quick service.Perfect spot for a bit of light refreshments after a visit to Townend farm.

A lovely place for a cup of darjeeling and a spot of tiffin. Congenial hosts and dog friendly.

We had lunch at The Old Post Office after a trip to NT Town End and a walk up Wansfell Pike. They were run off their feet, but made us feel welcome and took our order before somewhere to sit became available. We were astonished to find somewhere so remote that served gluten free bread - essential as my daughter is coeliac.I had a cheese and pickle sandwich, and it was delicious. Great bread, lovely filling and large side salad too. We were served with good humour, which put my shy teenage son at ease, and the meal made what had been a good day into a great day. Thanks for your kind service and delicious food.

Nice place, great ice cream. These views nearby.

Awesome tea room well worth a stop when you walk by. The owner is very friendly and the bacon butty is a welcome snack after a hike. Just use some common sense and don't queue up inside let him know you're there and he'll come to you.

We came across this lovely tea room on a walk from Ambleside across Wansfell Pike. The staff couldn't be friendlier and more helpful. We shared a delicious panini and a mouth watering slice of chocolate orange cake, with the perfect pot of tea for two. It was brought outside to us as we sat on a rock, in the sunshine, enjoying the amazing view. We then went to the nearby Jesus Church, returning for a scrumptious ice cream, before making our way back to Ambleside. I couldn't recommend this place more and hope to return.
