The Orange Tree in South Lakeland

Just what we were looking for. A really good, authentic, local pub. The classic pub food was excellent and arrived amazingly quickly. Great selection of local beers. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff.

Arrived early for food not knowing it was from 5.30, however we were accommodated and food arrived soon after 5.30, so our thanks to the kitchen. Tasty pub fare, big portions. Only all would be to offer some more choice of veg for children who don't like peas or beans!

Very nice pub, very classic and cosy place, really good chicken, bacon, brie and cranberry sauce burger, 10 out of 10

Ordered cumberland sausages n gammon came .?My chicken was advertised as having barbeque sauce but it was peppercorn .Obviously chef f decided what we were going to eat .Everything was delicious so we didnt complain .Very busy .you need to book .Nice staff .

Called for lunch today, Sunday, not been here for at least eight years, I was amazed to see that they still do a weekday lunchtime special at the same price, £4-95.We had a double Mexican burger with chips and a roast ham and eggs with chips. Drinks were pint of lime and soda and two pints of Kirkby Lonsdale Monumental. All were excellent, as were the young team running the show.

Last minute booking of the family room. Lovely welcome from staff. Room clean with bed settee made up ready. Good bathroom. Clean and spacious.Booked a table for our evening meal. Service was prompt and with a smile. I had the sirloin steak which came on a sizzler and was very juicy. I also ordered the peppercorn sauce and a side of sweet potato fries. All good. The rest of the family enjoyed their meals too.Our breakfast table was booked for 9.30am and was all laid out ready. The full English was very good and in with the room price.The only down side to our stay was noise from the road and other guests returning to their rooms late on.

Friendly atmosphere, sizzling steaks are really tasty. I've now had a few visits and tried different food and have never been disappointed. Recommend

Lovely pub. No car parking. Lovely full English breakfast. No fresh fruit. Nice big room . Unfortunately only had one evening meal at the pub . It was an absolute nightmare. Meal went back twice. In the end just got up and walk . Great location for exploring the Dale's.

Love this pub! The staff were exceptionally helpful & friendly. The food ....superb & excellent value for money. Always enjoy our trips here. One if these days we'll stay over!
