The Outgate Inn in South Lakeland

Went for a meal yesterday was (our 2nd visit.) Food was lovely, cosy surroundings and the locals very welcoming. A local chap called Paul was so friendly. Would definitely recommend. Beef roast was scrumptious and pheasant burger my husband said was lovely. Worth a visit we will 100% be back. Keep up the good work everyone :)

What a great pub. Such a welcome place after tramping about in the rain and sleet. Real fires, good beer, 2 for 1 on Pina Coladas. Had the best afternoon.

Food was good quality and staff were helpful and happy. Good atmosphere and a good range of drinks available.

We had an early new year's eve meal with the family. The staff were fabulous so was the food. I had the pheasant burger AMAZING!

Not great, not terrible. It is quite a standard run of the mill pub however they were able to operate where the other food outlets in Hawkshead could not as they do not have the "residents only" approach.The tomato and basil soup was lovely, however the burger, although juicy and very meaty was quite bland

Very pleasant short stay at the Outgate Inn. Extremely warm and friendly welcome. Excellent evening meals and breakfasts. Bed was not the biggest but OK for a couple of nights and the room was clean and tidy. We liked the location which was a mile or so out of Hawkshead and quieter. Very busy in the bar/restaurant on Saturday night, so booking essential. Good to see it busy though after what must have been a tough period with COVID.

Nice local pub with a great beer garden. The food was delicious (we had steak pie and bubble & squeak mash) and the prices were all very reasonable. Lovely staff too! The pub has its own small carpark across the road, but it is also right next to several public footpaths, so it's very easy to access from nearby villages, including Hawkshead.

Nice little family and dog friendly pub which sells light lunches. I had a roast pork with crackling and stuffing sandwich which was fully loaded and came with a side of fries and gravy.We found the staff to be friendly and polite and the beer was spot on.
