Staff kind and attentive, nice atmosphere and good selection of dishes. Bit more on the expensive side but great location and lots to do in close proximity. Overall pizzas were good and the deserts were quality, would recommend.

I have dined at The Pig 2 years ago and I was very impressed by the Pig platter then, and have been wanting to try it again. Unfortunately, during my return last week, I was left disappointed as there was a big drop in the standard of the food. I ordered the Pig platter but I could not recreate the experience I had 2 years ago. The scotch egg was replaced by a very average pork pie. Pork cracklings was no longer in the platter. The main disappointment was the pork belly - it was not succulent like it used to be, and the skin was not crispy - it was just such a huge drop in quality. The pulled pork did not taste good, it is too finely pulled and you can't get the nice texture of the pulled pork, and the barbecue sauce overwhelmed the flavour of the pork. Here I attach the two photos for comparison. I have not tried the other food here so I can't comment but appearance wise they do look quite good.In summary, the Pig platter, which used to be my favourite, has shown a big drop in quality. I hope the restaurant will look into this and perhaps do some tweaking to improve the quality of the Pig platter - after all, the name of the restaurant suggests that they should excel at all things pork.

Delightful restaurant! Staff friendly, welcoming and Dog friendly 🐕Food was excellent, Pig Platter is a must! Pizza's delicious and the staff/chef very understanding to gluten free options! We will be back 🙂

We enjoyed a lovely meal here and would recommend, it was busy and you can't book a table, we were lucky and got a table straight away. The food was delicious and staff friendly and on the ball, I've added a coue of photos but not sure they do the food justice really

Dined here to fuel up before starting a long hike through the Lake District. We were able to get a good table, and our small, well behaved doggo was also welcome to quietly sit with us which was a bonus. The restaurant was clean, warm and welcoming. The service was friendly and efficient - we both ordered the cajun chicken fillet burger, one as it comes and the other had additional toppings of bacon and cheese. The burgers were hot, fresh and tasty, and the portions were good. The prices aren't cheap, but they are competitive with other eateries in the area. Overall, a lovely experience to start off an adventure. Thanks to the waiting staff and chefs at The Pig! 🍔🐖

The environment was nice and clean, though there were some massive flies flying around trying to get out. Must've been the food's delicious aroma that trapped them in the first place.Ordered a pigs platter and a parma ham pizza. It tasted quite fresh and delicious. The pigs platter was indeed a lot of pork, grilled and baked and cooked in different various ways. Not sure the name of it, but my favorite was the loose pork on the platter that looked like a sludge. It's like something you'd eat to accompany chips like Doritos, but it was absolutely delicious and my favorite. The pizza was great too, matching the quality of other famous pizza restaurants like pizza express. But maybe even better because it's probably fresher.

Fantastic place to eat. We received a warm welcome and we’re quickly seated. The staff were amazing with a great sense of humour. We shared the pig platter with a couple of sides and it was all amazing. The pulled pork was some of the best I have tasted. Well worth a visit.

Lovely food and great atmosphere! I had the steak burger with added bbq pulled pork. The other was goat cheese salad and a side of halloumi fries. Would fully recommend and I will definitely be returning!

Food is nice. Portion is right and price is affordable. The staffs are very friendly, with good atmosphere and wide range of pig-based food. Other kinds of meat are available too. Just an overall nice pub. Pig platter, recommended sharing for three but judge the size for yourself (three of us are there but we are still filled).

Small restaurant with some outdoor seating, nice friendly staff. Nice selection of wines, ales etc. The food was fabulous! I had Calamari to start which was very nicely cooked. I had Sea Bass with capers, new potatoes for main which was so delicious. Cheese board had good variety and just the right amount to enjoy with a Shiraz. I will certainly visit here again.
