Very welcoming and accommodating, a traditional independent pub with plenty of character in the building and the staff couldn't do enough for us, fantastic lady behind the bar.Great that it is dog friendly and happily provided our pup with some gravy bones for free and a small meal for our dog at an incredibly reasonable price.Food was very clearly homemade, generously portioned and tasted delicious.Made me feel right at home, will definitely visit if I'm up this way again.

Had an absolutely fantastic meal this evening. Everything was cooked beautifully and served with a smile by the waitress & jolly chef! Only shame was Hannah wasn't there! But thanks for the birthday drink, much appreciated πŸ€— Will definitely call again when visiting.

My family and I had a wonderful meal at the Red Lion this evening. The food was fantastic and very good value. I especially loved the roast beef which melted in the mouth. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the complimentary drink to celebrate my husband's birthday was a lovely gesture.

Food was nice and portions where very generous. They had an issue with one of the largers. But there was plenty of others to choose from..

Dropped in for a light lunch of paninis. As they were accompanied by plenty of chunky, skins-on chips and a lovely dressed salad we ended up cancelling our planned dinner at home for later! Scrummy, tasty food at a very reasonable price, good service without having to wait too long for our meal and a very pleasant, cosy atmosphere with the plus of being dog-friendly. Will definitely visit again and recommend to friends snd family when they stay with us. Many thanks!πŸ‘πŸ˜‹

Sure a quaint little village. The pub is beautiful and rustic. Staff are sooo friendly and excellent service. Food is outstanding. Room is very spacious, comfy bed and super clean. Price is very reasonable. Locals are also lovely. Friendly note you can hear the bar downstairs but as long as you don't mind a little bit of noise that you'll love it.

Lovely warm atmosphere, excellent service. The pie was one of the best I’ve had in ages, homemade and delicious. Just what you look for in a pub, would highly recommend

Warm atmosphere and attentive staff who do a great job.The food is tasty and warm but nothing to write home about - plenty sufficient for after a days walking. The pub is (very) dog friendly & accommodates walkers, although parking is a short walk away in the village centre.

Excellent lunch here. We were party of 6 - grandparents, hubby and myself and children 9 and 6. Menu choice was great - it was a Sunday so 3 adults had a roast, 1 beer battered cod, and both children had pizza chips and beans (plus came with ice cream and a drink). Food was delicious, bar lady/waitress was wonderful, so attentive even though pub got busier and busier whilst we were there. Beer was good and a good selection. Will definitely go here again when we are in the area x

Friendly pub with great pub grub (we had lamb, 2 x burgers and lasangne) and worth the visit just to hear the banter from Hannah behind the bar with the regulars. Can't imagine anyone topping her at her job. On the go, serving drinks, taking orders, bringing a barrel up from the cellar, checking in with all customers new and old. Bet the lass is exhausted after her shift. πŸ‘
