The Red Lion Inn in South Lakeland

The pub is in a great location for visiting Windermere, Ambleside and Coniston. We stayed for 2 nights the staff were really friendly and the food although not a vast menu was nice.

Had a meal here at the weekend. The food was absolutely brilliant and the staff and atmosphere was great. Would highly recommend.

Staff were very friendly, pub had a nice atmosphere and the food was gorgeous. My wife had steak, whilst I had steak and ale pie, both were really nice. I'd go back next time we're in the area and I'd recommend it to anyone from my experience.

A lovely, well run and friendly pub/hotel. Food is good down to earth and tasty. Not a huge choice but certainly enough. Prices are, I would say, average.I stayed in a twin room for one night and was more than happy. Room had all the necessities and the beds were very comfortable. Clean, neat and tidy. Had a great nights sleep! Breakfast in the morning was perfect. A full English but their were choices of cereal, juices, coffee and tea.All in all an excellent please to rest after a day of exploring in the Lakes. Smiling, happy staff always make the difference and I’m. Wry pleased to say you will get exactly that from the staff here.Would recommend.

Friendly welcome, nice twin bed room,Breakfast OK and parking no problem.Strange only 3 mini cartons of milk in room despite ample coffee.As for evening meal it barely rated 1 star.Only options on menu were curry or seabass?So seabass it was. Never seen a piece of fish served so small plus it was overcooked.Won't be eating there again

We stopped off for some lunch and paid £5.25 for what can only be described as half a bowl of lukewarm dish water with 3 pieces of bread supposed to be ciabatta but not much bigger than a crouton and rock hard. Service very slow. Seems like when you have no competition you can get away with whatever.

Staff were warm and friendly, and more than accommodating. Food was excellent and the room was lovely. Couldn't be happier with my stay 😊

Really nice place. The staff are friendly & helpful. The food is standard pub grub but nice. The prices are reasonable & the beer is good. Also welcomes dogs, what more could you want.

Eaten here two nights in a row. Everything was excellent couldn't fault it at all. Made to feel so welcomeNew owners have only be there 6 weeks, I really hope its a huge success for them. Very rarely leave reviews but think they deserve one! Leaving Friday so will definitely be paying them another visit before we leave.
