The Restaurant at Storrs Hall in South Lakeland

Beautiful building very nice hotel with lots of beautiful architecture and history, very nice staff and very pleasant. Dinned there on Thursday night hugely disappointing, table set was just like a 2 star not what you would expect from some where of this category. No wine glasses on table poor selection of meals just very disappointing.Breakfast was absolutely fantastic, but sadly overhaul a hotel I've wanted to visit for many years was a real let down.

Came here for lunch and it was exceptional. From the lovely welcome to the incredible views over the lake while eating tremendous food served by friendly knowledgeable staff. 7 star experience.

I have stayed here on a few occasions and it has always been an exception stay. The staff are very friendly, the breakfast is great and the rooms are amazing. We usually stay in the hotel and go down to the lake. It is always so relaxing and leave feeling refreshed

I booked a room, evening meal and breakfast for my partner.She arrived before I did and met me in our room.From the moment I walked in until the moment I left the staff were the friendliest of any other place I've stayed.Our room was exceptional with a view over Lake Windermere.Food and the service was fantastic.We will definitely be booking further dates in the future.

We recently stayed here for our belated honeymoon. The hotel was exceptional, food was some of the best we've tasted, the room was so comfortable and quiet, and the location, well it overlooks lake Windermere, it's gorgeous.By far the best thing was the staff, they are amazing, so professional but friendly & relaxed at the same time, in particular the Scottish bar manager. His knowledge of all the spirits in the bar was incredible. We will definitely come back, thank you for an amazing three nights.

Blow away by everything. 5* location, decor, service, food. The staff really went above and beyond. The suites overlooking the lake were stunning with underfloor heated bathroom, undercover hot tub overlooking woodland and the lake. Draw dropping views, every comfort you could need. We stayed in December and the Christmas decorations were beautiful, fires well tended for, music choice so relaxing. Highly recommended and we will be back.

I booked an afternoon tea for my partner and I to enjoy on our first weekend away together in the lakes. I struggled to find somewhere around Windemere but after some searching and comparing i came across Storrs hall. The photos and opinions of previous visitors sounded very reassuring and i booked us in for afternoon tea for two.They were actually running a festive edition of their afternoon tea which was absolutely brilliant. Well presented and a nice balance of everything, we couldn't finish it all either so we took a few remaining treats away with us. The whole team were very professional, friendly and funny. We also got to enjoy a walk around the grounds afterwards to try and burn off some of those delicious calories! Even in December the wander around the grounds on the shore of Windermere was lovely. As we didn't stay i can't comment on the full hotel experience but the afternoon tea was absolutely cracking.

Beautiful hall overlooking the lake. The original building has lovely period features, especially the rotunda and the dining room. We stayed in one of the suites overlooking the lake which are beautifully made, new, clean and private. Stunning views down to the water. The position of the hall is stunning as it is on a small isthmus which projects in to the lake. The staff were always kind and helpful.

Attended Storrs Hall for a wedding and both my partner and I were blown away by the gorgeous grounds and views. The room was very spacious with a lot of storage space and fantastic amenities. The shower was a particular highlight! The food served throughout was lovely and staff were very attentive and friendly. All-in-all, a fantastic experience and certainly a hotel I would definitely recommend and return to!

Went to Storrs Hall for afternoon tea. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and attentive. We were lucky to go on a lovely sunny day and sat out in the gardens with a view of Windermere. It was delightful. Would highly recommend. It was on the pricy side but well worth the money if you’re looking for a treat.
