The food is passable but takes quit a long time. My Dad was mortified when they ran out of real ales. A first in the many years we have been coming to the lakes.

Great food choices, well cooked and presented…staff were excellent with good humour and attentiveness as required

Decent and possibly the only place I could find for my family of 5. Great wholesome breakfast and courteous helpful staff. There were 4 bunk beds in my room plus a decent sized Master bed. The cleanliness was average but could have been better. Our room lock didnt work at all so had to risk our bags. Kids loved the bunk bed experience. Easy to commute being between Windermere and Ambleside using the Hop on Hop off bus. And has a Spar and petro station nearby.

We had a meal here during our stay in Windermere. Alex was excellent!!!! She made us feel very welcome and had everything set up for us when we arrived. She was really friendly and gave excellent service. The food was incredible, great selection, huge servings and brilliant quality!!!!

If I could give it 0 star I would. My fiancé and I went in last night for food and upon entering, there was a strange vibe about the place. We waited 10 minutes to be addressed in anyway and the woman who came to the bar just stared at me, mumbled something about asking someone else about tables and ran away. When a young man finally came and we enquired about a table, he said just to wait until one opened up. We ordered a couple of colas and waited at the bar. More people started coming in and without even checking if anyone else was waiting, grabbed tables. There was no organisation, no waiting system, just a mad free for all. The staff were cold and distant. We left and ate elsewhere. Terrible customer service.

Cannot fault this place! My first trip to the Lake District and I will be 100% returning to this accommodation. Dog friendly and attention to detail. Management were absolutely amazing!! Lovely people and so helpful and chatty!! Absolutely loved my trip and the comfy bed provided a fabulous night sleep after adventures nearby. Small touches such as shampoo and body wash were an added bonus for forgetful people like myself!! 10/10 for hospitality and can't wait to return!

Date of stay: mid Aug 2021.We booked through Booking.com, room for 2, with free complementary full English breakfast next day morning. Room number 7, on the 1st floor. Location of the hotel near roadside, close to the Lake. Good condition and clean room with very comfortable bed. The room was spacious with towels, all toiletries and hospitality tray (kettle, tea, coffee, milk, sugar). Staff was very helpful and friendly. Hotel offers a car park and Wi-Fi (excellent signal) free of charge. In the evening we ordered 3 courses dinner - it was very nice and freshly made. Also very affordable prices.Next day morning breakfast was served to the tables in the main bar area. Everyone got a printed food menu with standard and veggie ingredients to pick and mix as your own choice. Hash browns quality could be improved, as texture was too greasy and coffee wasn’t the best quality as well. Tea definitely was a better choice.Overall good experience.

Booked online, having both driven and walked past this beautiful old building. Arrived to be met by very attentive staff at the very friendly bar. The hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere, and a comfy bar area. The room was a delight. The bed super comfy, the en suite had a hot powerful shower, and was beautifully tiled. Complimentary tea, coffee, mineral water, and a couple of packets of quality biscuits. All sparkling clean and well appointed. Full breakfast (with veggie options) was included in the modest charge. With 12 rooms, you are never going to be overwhelmed by people. The bar was well stocked. Free car parking just opposite the lane. Breakfast was excellent. The whole vibe was excellent. Special thanks should be given to the staff, who really went the extra mile to be helpful and attentive.Highly recommended. And super staff.

Really friendly place, staff will advise you how much to order as it's quite easy to over order. We ordered 9 separate dishes lots of soft drinks and a wine and it was only ÂŁ77 for 4 of us. Everyone was stuffed. Nice atmosphere, family and child friendly and good quality food , kebab was especially tasty. Lots of options for veggies too. Excellent and free parking.
