Uplands in South Lakeland

Absolutely stunning location, lovely rooms with high spec bathroom/shower. The owners are welcoming and will help with anything you need, we will be returning soon (hopefully).

New owners are a breath of fresh air all three of them are great to talk to and have a laugh the hotel is gorgeous and in a brilliant location for tourists and locals alike the breakfast was lovely and the bar and restareunt section had a great atmosphere. Would 100 percent recommend staying here you will not regret it!

4.5 stars. I lovely place with excellent views. Very close to Grange over Sands and Cartmel. Staff were welcoming and the room was clean and cosy. Dog friendly too which was great for us.

We stayed for one night for a wedding nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful but the hotel was very basic for the price and the breakfast was below average. The setting is nice though.

Booked in for a special meal last night so had lovely table overlooking the Cartmel fells and Grange estuary as the sun was setting. Lovely setting and views. Meal and service was top notch, esp recommend the sea bass!! 😊Thank you

Had a lovely one night stay at Uplands Inn for a wedding in Cartmel, staying in their Kent room. The staff were friendly and helpful with check in, providing a menu for breakfast (which was delicious the following morning). The room was very clean and tidy and nicely furnished, the bathroom was huge and very comfortable. Overall we had a great stay with some incredible views in a great part of the countryside and would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

We held my wife's 50th birthday party here at the weekend, it was superb. From the very start from me contacting James the service and attention we received was fantastic. The setting, location and facilities were perfect, we had a buffet & BBQ which was as good as I have ever seen, loads of choice and an endless supply. All the staff were professional and friendly, even when we got a bit rowdy towards the end of the night (sorry James) and they treated everyone to a wonderful night, I would not hesitate recommending the Uplands to anyone, its a real gem.

We had our sons surprise 18th family get together here on Friday. Nothing was too much trouble for the amazing team at Uplands, from booking, pre-ordering to the evening. The food was fantastic, especially the Steak and the huge sticky toffee puddings. They have a fantastic outdoor area, with a big garden for children to run about it, with lovely lighting that creates such a great atmosphere. James, Steph and their team were all so friendly and helpful. It really did make it a great night to remember. We can recommend them 100%.

Awful customer service and really inconsistent. As we were waiting to check in, the people in front of us were asked if they would like to book a table in restaurant. They actually chose what table they wanted and time they wanted. They were then offered help with carrying their bags to their room. We checked in and nothing was said about the restaurant, wrongly we presumed this was because they must have had capacity if people checking in at 3pm could choose their table and time. We weren't offered help with our bags, which would have been nice as we were struggling with them and our 8 month old puppy. We later tried to get a tae but were told the restaurant was full. We were surprised by this as had something been said at check in we would have booked a table. The whole idea of going to a dog friendly hotel was so we could enjoy everything in one place. We were also surprised as there were tables available outside and people were eating outside. We tried to work out a solution with management but they were hostile, rude and completely lacked any customer service skills. Our room was hot and you couldn't control the temperature, shower was tempermental and breakfast was OK. Walks around the hotel aren't suitable for dogs that you want to walk off lead. Overall one of the worst hotel experiences I've had
