Villa Positano in South Lakeland

The garlic bread and grilled prawn starters were very competent, the aglio olio needed more salt but was well perfumes by Chili and garlic, the spaghetti marinara with seaofood was divine. The mussels were 1 in 15 gritty though, but at a less alarming rate than my dinner the night before. Service was Italiany impeccable for us, but the owner was unbelievably patient and entertaining to the kids in front of us. Kudos. I enjoyed myself dearly, frontrunner and runaway for best food and meal in Lake District

Great little family Italian restaurant in Bowness on Windermere. Friendly attentive service delicious well presented traditional food. Reasonable prices and interesting cuisine with good specials board. Booking advised as it’s quite small. Recommended !

Took a chance a chance of not booking and it paid off. We arrived after 8 and got seated immediately. It was busy but the charm and atmosphere weren’t lost. Food was served quickly and tasted delicious. The restaurant has a traditional family atmosphere and we were made to feel welcome. It’s worth making sure you have room for the tiramisu or sticky toffee pudding, both home made and amazing…. I’d go as far as saying the sticky toffee pudding was better than any other rival I have tasted, it was very light and tasted great

My wife and myself ate here for the first time this evening. The staff were welcoming and polite. The food was better than excellent, very fresh and piping hot and every dish had that personal taste. Thoroughly enjoyed it and we will return when we're back up here.

So good we're going again tomorrow!My girlfriend and I both had a hankering for Italian food and happened to discover this restaurant within walking distance of our hotel. Our cravings were satisfied and then some. We shared a sensational cheesy garlic pizza bread to start, followed by a deliciously creamy salmon dish for her and an obscenely tasty Italian sausage and salami pasta for me. Topped off with one of the best desserts I have had in ages (strawberry cheesecake). Everything was impeccably fresh, balanced and perfectly made, with the whole experience rendered even more enjoyable by the super friendly and efficient service.We still have a couple of days left in the Lake District and have already booked our table for a repeat visit.

What an amazing restaurant the food was incredible the tomato garlic bread pizza style was something I could eat every day! The garlic/chili pasta was a generous portion and it looked plain but packed a punch but a side helping of roasted veg was good. The food is clearly freshly made with good ingredients. All meals served quickly. The staff were lovely they were all really happy and friendly. Service was 10/10. Wish I lived near enough to visit regularly. Good vegan/vegetarian options but no vegan cheese or pudding I would have liked a pudding.

We walked in on a busy evening after an issue with a booking elsewhere and were lucky to get a table.The staff were really friendly -especially when we left late and they were enjoying a well deserved evening meal together.The food was stunning, not your basic Italian by a long shot! We will certainly be returning next time we are in the area!Also the best pudding ever recommend by the lovely lady that served us xx

We walked in on a busy Friday night and got seated straight away. Food was amazing and the staff were even better, especially Claire who took care of us. Would recommend this lovely little place to anyone visiting Bowness-on-Windermere!
